Putzel Electrical Contractors, Inc. is helping Brasfield & Gorrie, LLC to expand a The Salvation Army shelter for unhoused people in Atlanta. Located near Centennial Olympic Park, the project will double the size of the current facility and increase the number of shelter beds from 321 to 437. Plans call for two floors of dormitory-style housing for male residents, and another two floors of individualized living spaces. The project will also include an Education and Workforce Development Center that will offer services to residents such as housing solutions, financial education, emergency assistance programs, and other programs designed to support veteran services. We are looking forward to work getting started this year!

Is your government's fund balance reserves enough? How would you deal with the financial impact of this? When arguing to cut-cut-cut, remember to save-save-save. Everyone is either (1) going through a financial hardship, (2) just coming out of a financial hardship, or (3) about to endure a financial hardship. Plan ahead for resilency!
Early on Tuesday, the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, collapsed after it was struck by a large cargo ship, leading to a massive emergency response to rescue at least seven people in the water. Footage captured the moment the 1.6 mile-long, four lane bridge crumbled upon impact from the ship. As of now, two individuals have been saved from the water, according to Baltimore Fire Department Chief James Wallace.

Seven years ago today 72 people lost their lives at Grenfell Tower. The Grenfell fire was the catalyst that started the conversation about things needing to change in the construction industry. We in our industry must get better, we must strive for positive change and improvement across the board. We must strive for an industry based on values, integrity and competence, rather than misplaced confidence, poor qualifications and low price. We must strive for more effective and impactful regulation. We must be honest about our past mistakes and failures, and strive for an industry that ensures that we learn from that past. We’ve all got to do our bit to reset our industry, and drive forward the systemic change, that needs to happen, in a meaningful way. Change that needs to make a positive difference. There is a job of work that needs to be done focussed on outcomes that need to happen. Thoughts today are not just with the victims’ families, but the survivors and emergency services; firefighters and paramedics who responded that night. #healthandsafety #fire #firesafety #tetra #firefighting #firefighters #remember #remembering #rememberingthem #emergencyservices #Grenfell

Denver’s new Mayor is deeply and personally committed to extraordinary outcomes that truly solve big problems like homelessness and immigration. He’s also a champion of Pu mic Education. If you want to be inspired about politics and Education and more, I recommend his book, In the Deep Heart's Core https://a.co/d/gxKCGxc.
As part of our four-part strategy moving forward, we will consolidate our newcomer shelters, saving Denver up to $60 million. People at those locations will be relocated to other facilities or stable housing. https://bit.ly/42V0XP6
