I viewed with interest a recent list of the 25 fastest-growing CPA firms in the country. I was pleased to see them on such a prestigious list, but the satisfaction came from another place. It was the fact that those most recognized for growth are not resting on their laurels. Rather, they see the need for ongoing, professional growth strategies, regardless of the market, the economy and other prevailing winds. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e4ytjY86

As Deputy Chair of the @IFAC International Panel on Accountancy Education, I’m delighted to share proposed changes to the International Education Standards (IESs) that will embed sustainability across the initial training of professional accountants and identify improved requirements and content to support assessment of aspiring professional accountants. The IESs set the principles that professional accountancy organizations around the world follow to build national accountancy professions that are fully capable of fulfilling the complex demands economies and societies place on it. With these newly proposed changes, IFAC, through the work of the International Panel on Accountancy Education, is adding a robust framework to develop capable professional accountants who produce, report and assure sustainability information. Read the proposed changes and share your feedback by July 24 here: https://bit.ly/3QfcDHm IFAC is also holding two webinars on May 21 to detail the proposed changes. Exciting news from the IFAC International Panel on Accountancy Education! 🌍📢 Earlier today, the Panel voted to endorse revisions to the International Education Standards (IES) to address sustainability reporting in initial accountancy education—a significant step toward ensuring accountants are equipped for the future. I feel fortunate to have worked alongside our amazing team of volunteers on the Panel, its Sustainability Working Group, and our wider community of accountancy education leaders across the globe, all of whom have contributed to shaping these important revisions and this landmark development. It is impossible to recognize everyone involved, but a special thanks to ⭐ Anne-Marie Vitale, Panel Chair, for your leadership, strategic direction, and counsel from the inception of the project to this moment. ⭐ Michelle Cardwell, my standard-setting extraordinaire colleague, for your unflinching commitment and dedication to the quality of the project and its due process. We have one final step in our process, with the final standards being presented to the IFAC Board next month for their approval consideration. If approved, we plan to publish the final versions in March. So watch this space! 👀 With growing investor and stakeholder demand for high-quality sustainability disclosures and assurance, all accountants must develop the right competencies to meet this need. These revisions provide a robust framework for educators and organizations to develop future fit professionals who can produce, report, and assure sustainability information with confidence. #Sustainability #Education #FutureFit #Accounting #IFAC
