This past weekend I visited Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum to see two of my bronze sculptures on display for their Art & Earth Day Exhibition! 🌎🖼️ These two sculptures were created during a metal foundry course that I took this semester at University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning which opened my eyes to the world of metalwork & sculpture. As a designer I’m used to working in 2-D spaces - so I really wanted to experiment with shape, texture, and space during this course. I’m always looking for ways to expand my knowledge and experiences, and this class definitely checked those boxes! I learned the processes of lost-wax casting, how to work with solid bronze, and how to use LOTS of power tools. It was so amazing to see my artwork on display like this, and I’m thrilled with how the final pieces turned out. I’m retaking the course in the Fall because I enjoyed it so much, so there will be many more sculptures to come!
