This Pride Month, we're inspired by the insightful reflections of our Project Management Head and one of the 2023 QBE GSSC All Stars, Sarah Nessia, on navigating identity at work. She believes that coming out is deeply personal—it's about sharing your story in your own way, with whom you choose, and when it feels right. Prioritizing what's best for you is key.

I drive realistic outcomes through strong communication, leadership, and virtue for organizations seeking effective project management.
Happy Labor Day! Tomorrow I embark on a new and exciting adventure! In preparation for it, I created a list of the first steps I plan on taking. I felt it was a good share to my LinkedIn community. Here are the key first steps I plan on taking: 1) Meet the team: Introducing myself and get to know each team member individually. 2) Understand the project landscape: Review ongoing projects, priorities, and deadlines. 3) Assess team dynamics: Observe how the team works together and identify strengths and areas for improvement. 4) Review existing processes: Familiarize myself with current change/project management tools and methodologies. 5) Set expectations: Clarify my role, communication style, and management approach with the team. 6) Align with stakeholders: Meet key stakeholders to understand their expectations and project vision. 7) Identify quick wins: Look for immediate improvements or issues I can address to build trust. 8) I’m going to create a 30-60-90 day plan: Outline my goals and strategies for the first three months. Onward and upward by at least 1%!

"A goal without a plan is just a wish." – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Ever set a New Year’s resolution only to see it fizzle out by February? That’s the difference between dreaming and doing! In the world of project management, this quote is a golden rule. Whether you're part of a new project launch, already leading a team, or just trying to organize your week, remember: A wish is your destination; a plan is your GPS. #ProjectManagement #BuiltDifferent

Project Manager at DXC Technology | Project Management | Risk Management | Agile & Waterfall Methodologies | Passionate about Delivering Results & Driving Business Growth |
Every project is a journey, a narrative of challenges conquered, expectations exceeded, and successes celebrated. Today, I would like to share a story that encapsulates the very essence of project management—a tale of resilience, creativity, and triumph against all odds. In a recent project, we encountered a myriad of obstacles, each seemingly more daunting than the last. But amidst the chaos, we discovered the true power of understanding stakeholders' fears. By delving deep into their concerns, we unearthed invaluable insights that guided our approach, fostering trust and collaboration every step of the way. Yet, our journey didn't end there. We dared to dream bigger, to push the boundaries of what was thought possible. And oh, how we delivered beyond expectations! Through innovative solutions and unwavering dedication, we transformed challenges into opportunities, propelling our project to new heights of success. But perhaps the most gratifying part of our journey was the celebration that followed. As we reached our milestones and surpassed our goals, we paused to revel in the collective triumph of teamwork and perseverance. For in the end, it's not just about the end result, but the journey we undertake together. This story serves as a poignant reminder of the power of adaptability in the face of adversity. It's a testament to the ingenuity and resilience that define our profession, inspiring us to approach each challenge with creativity and courage. So here's to the unsung heroes of project management - the visionaries, the problem-solvers, and the champions of success. May we continue to embrace the heart of project management, turning obstacles into opportunities, and writing stories that inspire us all. #projectmanagement #successstories #teamwork #innovation #adaptability

Agility and proactive problem-solving in projects...
As a social service agency, every project you do comes with its unique set of challenges—whether it’s unexpected scope changes, budget constraints, or shifting team dynamics. As project management consultants, we’ve learned that AGILITY and PROACTIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING are key to overcoming these obstacles. The ability to pivot quickly, reassess priorities, and maintain clear communication can mean the difference between a project’s success or failure. It’s not about avoiding challenges but about how you respond to them that truly defines the outcome. #projectmanagement #agility #projectleadership #projectconsulting

Happy Friday everyone. One thing that came to my mind today was the small victories achieved this week by the team I’m working with. I reminded myself that before enjoying the big results that only a project end of cycle can give you, the small victories along the way are what makes the journey so worthwhile. Seen a group of people to grow and do better is what makes Project Management so rewarding. I love my job! #projectmanagement #projectmanager

Reflecting on this week, I've realized that project success isn't solely about the plans and tools; 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁. This lesson hit home during a conversation with a friend who shared his transformative experience in project management. ♦ Early in the week, he recounted how he once struggled with a project until he prioritized effective communication and collaboration with his team. This simple shift in focus propelled the project to success, highlighting the important role of people in project management. ♦Inspired by his insight, I approached the week with a fresh appreciation for people in project management. 📌The people around us have the power to transform challenges into opportunities and elevate our collective success. ❓What about you? How have the people in your life influenced your work this week? Share your stories and insights below. 📌I am 𝐀𝐲𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐦𝐢 𝐎𝐤𝐞 and I help teams and organizations streamline their processes and manage their projects more effectively to achieve their goals on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
