🎲 In August 2024, the U.S. gaming industry continued its impressive growth streak, now in its 42nd consecutive month. According to the American Gaming Association (AGA), the combined revenue across casinos, sports betting, and iGaming hit $5.65 billion, an 8.7% increase over August 2023. Online gaming led the way, growing 28.8% year-over-year to reach $1.42 billion and now accounts for 25.2% of the total gaming market—a sharp rise from 21.3% the previous year. Traditional casino games also saw a steady 3.3% growth, with slots and table games generating $4.18 billion. In sports betting, revenue reached $755.7 million across 33 states, boosted by new entries like Kentucky and Maine. Washington, D.C. saw standout gains, with sports betting revenue up 333% from 2023. Delaware also saw a 126% increase with the recent addition of online betting options. These sectors generated approximately $1.21 billion in state tax revenue just in August, with $10.14 billion collected year-to-date, showcasing the massive impact of gaming on state economies. #GamingIndustry #USGaming #iGaming #SportsBetting #CasinoGaming

In the quarterly update of its Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker, the American Gaming Association (AGA) noted that the industry has continued to grow well into the second quarter of 2024, registering gains across all tracked performance markers, namely total gross gaming revenue, traditional casino gross gaming revenue, sports betting gross gaming revenue, and iGaming gross gaming revenue. Virtually, every sector of the industry has grown over the past three months, underpinned by robust trends within the respective verticals. Commercial and digital segments have contributed to shaping a more resilient industry that has been able to mark growth across all crucial areas. The American Gaming Association (AGA) has reported its ‘Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker’ and ‘State of the States’ for Q1 2024. In total, gross gaming revenue (GGR) came to $17.67bn, with year-over-year growth of 5.6%, with March 2024 providing the industry with its second-highest revenue recording ever at $6.09m, falling just behind the all-time high of $6.35bn reported in December 2023.  https://lnkd.in/d6GmSKjT

New Jersey gaming revenue grew 8.3% to $510m for May 2024, an 8.3% increase from $470.9m in May 2023. YTD total gaming revenue amounted to $2.57b, a 13.1% rise compared to the $2.2b reported in the same period last year. Casino wins for the nine properties was $239.1m in May 2024, up 5.2% from $227.3m in May 2023. The YTD casino revenue was $1.11b. Internet gaming revenue was $192.1m for May 2024, a 19% increase from $161.4m in May 2023. For the YTD, internet revenue reached $942.8m, Sports wagering gross revenue by casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $78.8m for May 2024, a 4.2% decrease from $82.2m in May 2023. US commercial gaming revenue reached an annual record of US$66.5 billion in 2023, up 10% year-on-year and representing the third straight year of setting new all-time records, according to information from the American Gaming Association (AGA).
