OCTOBER 10, 2024 Why the black hole information paradox still hasn’t been solved Black holes encode information on their surfaces, but evaporate away into Hawking radiation. Is that information preserved, and if so, how? The event horizon of a black hole is a spherical or spheroidal region from which nothing, not even light, can escape. But outside the event horizon, the black hole is predicted to emit radiation. Hawking's 1974 work was the first to demonstrate this, but that work has also led to a paradox that has not yet been resolved. Anthony: Entropy (2nd Thermo law) escapes that’s how we know there is radiation (heat). The incredible mass of the black holes could naturally create entangled photons. Entangled photons that do not collapse into the singularity would, in theory, contain the lost information. I imagine all of the photons trapped in the event horizon would exist in some form of entanglement. Just thoughts.
