Translating healthcare through genomics and gene therapy| Solution provider in treating life-threatening diseases
Moderna and MSD Merck Sharp & Dohme A.G. collectively designed #mRNA4157/V940 as the world's first personalized mRNA cancer vaccine against Melanoma. The vaccine is currently in its Phase 3 trials (with and versus pembrolizumab, KEYTRUDA) and has been already tested by a 52-year old melanoma survivor from UK. The mRNA vaccine codes for upto 34 neoantigens unique for every patient based on the mutational signature of the tumor. This elicits a specific antitumor response by the immune system and developing adaptive immunity. This therapy opens up new avenues for #personalisedmedicine and #genetherapy in #oncology.

Vaccine Demonstrates Benefit in Delaying Cancer Relapse 🌟 A groundbreaking Phase I trial has shown that a lymph node-targeted cancer vaccine offers an 86 percent reduction in the risk of relapse or death in #pancreatic and #colorectal cancers. This is a significant step forward in preventing relapse of KRAS-mutated cancers in patients who have undergone surgery. ℹ The Phase II trial, set to commence later in 2024, will utilize a new formulation of the ELI-002 cancer vaccine, targeting additional KRAS mutations. The researchers presented preliminary data from the Phase I trial at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Special Conference on Pancreatic Cancer in 2023. The #vaccine showed a favourable #safety profile and may help many patients avoid relapse, potentially increasing survival rates. This promising development was supported by Elicio Therapeutics and underscores the potential of #immunotherapy in revolutionizing #cancertreatment. As we look forward to further advancements, let's celebrate this beacon of hope in the journey towards a world without cancer. 🌱💪🏼 #ElicioTherapeutics #cancerresearch #immunotherapy #hopeforthefuture #SymmetricTraining

Game-changer Cancer Jab Offers Hope of a Cure: The new jab, which is set to be tested on around 1,100 patients worldwide, is an individualised neoantigen therapy (INT) and is sometimes called a cancer jab. It is designed to trigger the immune system to fight back against the patient's specific type of cancer and tumour. Known as mRNA-4157 (V940), it targets tumour neoantigens, which are expressed by tumours and are individual to each patient. #cancer #oncology #melanoma #vaccine #skincancer #drugdiscovery #drugdelivery #medicalsciences #pharmaceutics #medicine #mrna

First Lung Cancer Vaccine Given to Patient in International Clinical Trial: The novel vaccine, BNT116, made by the German biotech company BioNTech, uses messenger RNA (mRNA) to present markers from the tumor to the patient’s immune system so it can recognize and fight the cancer cells carrying the tumor markers. The vaccine works selectively on cancer cells via the patient’s immune system, rather than, say, chemotherapy, which can be toxic to both cancerous and healthy cells. #cancer #oncology #vaccine #mrna #gene #drugdiscovery #drugdelivery #medicalsciences #pharmaceutics #medicine #drugdelivery #drugdevelopment
