Hoping many of my SME clients with Business Sheffield attend this. Supply chains need to be diversified and localised, and the starting point is just being on the registry of suppliers. You have to be in it to win it, after all! I am a big fan of the #PrestonModel and cannot understand why more local authorities are not actively embracing the positivity of ensuring that the majority of contracts go to genuinely local businesses that employ local people. Even if it costs more up front, it will doubtless cost less in the long term, plus don't #LocalEconomy and employment benefit #CommunityCohesion and reduce #inequality?

Since I established the first women network, I have observed and experienced lot of challenges, which I find them normal. Without challenges, I dont find myself into the right place or doing the right thing. During those challenges, most people who tried to turn me down and ruin my business was men. Many men tried hard to block me and used their amazing power for this in the market, which is still ongoing. This is important to share because many women face similar things with me but afraid of sharing it. In the world that men can attempt to harm women in many sense without hesitation, we as women should not hold back but need to stand more and not to waste time to send them the bricks that they throw us, but to put those bricks on our way to take one step further and elevate. That time was the exact time I realised I did something valuable and I am proud of it. Today, where women employment is still not equal to men worldwide, especially in senior levels; it is not easy to survive for women and promote, nevertheless there is a promising development. The global world currently offers women variable opportunities to close the gap in gender equity and diversity. As pioneering the women empowerment in the logistics world, we dont do gender discrimination. Logifem dont stand for excluding men. Women network does not mean ‘we dont accept men’ or ‘we wear pink’. We as women have more than enough colours to represent us and we dont need to exlude men to prove our strength. We need diverse thinking. We embrace equity in today’s global world and we provide an efficient platform where more women can involve and contribute equity in the logistics sector and enjoy networking. Men who share the same vision and rather than harming others be confident enough to support are most welcome to our exclusive society. I met a lot of gentlemen who support the idea of women empowerment in this male dominated sector, which cherishes me a lot.
