2025 Popular Satcom Antenna Variants: each has its own; costs, benefits, advantages & disadvantages. Generally speaking; the deeper the dome the more drag on the aircraft (sometimes 1-2%+ increase in form & parasite drag). Domes cause more fuel burn. And the fewer moving-parts, the more reliable it will be (phased-array & blade advantage)... The top-left conformal antenna is as used on F-15, placed in the nose, looking upwards...
