I'm thrilled to share a recent achievement by our team at Charge Power Inc on a 200MW/400MWH #BESS project. We were tasked with developing a customized solution to tackle a unique challenge. The project faced significant schedule delays due to unforeseen variables and other factors. The project COD couldn't be adjusted due to these delays and our goal was to minimize commissioning and testing timelines post backfeed and accelerate project readiness for #ERCOT checklists. After conducting a thorough analysis, we identified potential solutions, weighed their pros and cons, and presented a cost-benefit analysis to the project team. Through ongoing collaboration and customization, we secured approval to proceed with our final solution: dividing construction completion into phases and utilizing a grid emulator (a combination of a load bank and generator) to simulate grid conditions at the substation and kick-start commissioning processes. This approach required strategic planning and coordination among all stakeholders, as well as efficient execution. In just three weeks, we achieved remarkable results: completing 87% of BESS commissioning and reducing post-energization commissioning efforts to just 25% of the original timeline. We also completed #EMS startup, checkout and #SCADA network turn-up and proactively identified and resolved equipment issues during this process, eliminating potential delays post backfeed. Last but not the least, zero #safety recordables during this entire process. This experience highlights the importance of effective #commissioning #management, collaboration, and strategic #solutions in overcoming complex challenges. Our team's expertise and customized approach ensured a successful outcome for the project needs. If you want to learn more about effective BESS integration and commissioning strategies, please reach out to me directly. #EnergyStorage #strategize #sustainable #solutions #Commissioning #Management

Navigating the sometimes muddy waters of Grid Codes, BETTA, Outage Planning and Commissioning Management can be extremely difficult for new connections or the upgrading of the high voltage network, this can sometimes get lost in all the other engineering duties in projects but nonetheless as important. We at HVEC, as well as designing and commissioning of substations, can provide a further service; Grid Connection Customer Support assisting the customer with the Transmission Operator (TO) and National Grid Electrical System Operator (ESO) coordination that will ensure all documentation required is submitted as per compliance timelines. We can assist in the planning of outages required for switching programmes and project work, timelines for plant and apparatus coming under safety rules to ensure smooth process from pre commissioning to energisation. (known as HVSCC enactment). We successfully managed the processes in Wind Farms, Traction Power, DNO's, Transmission works, BESS and Solar Connections. We can offer services to anyone who needs compliance advice 🌍 Contact us today on`linkedin' to learn more about our services and how we can support your projects. #transmisson #BETTA #connection #traction #windfarm #gridmodernization #gridresilience #stcp

Transco Collaborates with MORESCO-1 for Onsite Inspection of its Sub-Transmission Assets https://bit.ly/42ZpFhz March 4, 2024 In a significant move towards enhancing power transmission efficiency, the National Transmission Corporation (Transco) and the Misamis Oriental 1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative, Inc (MORESCO-1) convened for an onsite inspection of MORESCO-1's acquired sub-transmission assets under least purchase agreement. The inspection aims to ensure compliance as approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC). The meeting, held at MORESCO-1's premises, brought together key personnel from Transco and MORESCO-1 to oversee the assessment firsthand. Among the attendees were Rennedy Anthony B. Elarmo, Archibald L. Echano, and Aaron Jay Ricardo S. Silva, all Principal Engineers A from Transco's Technical Management Group (TMG). Additionally, Michael Jason R. Estrera, Project Design representative from MORESCO-1, and Raff Shun Rhay Laput, Planning and Design engineer from MORESCO-1, contributed their expertise to the inspection. Collen B. Tarcelo, Engineering Services Department Manager, and Marjun Lagumay, Laguindingan Service Area Manager, represented MORESCO-1 during the inspection, underscoring the cooperative's commitment to transparency and cooperation in the process. The inspection focused on evaluating the condition and functionality of MORESCO-1's overhead sub-transmission - 69kV line-assets currently under amortization. This meticulous scrutiny is crucial to ensure that the assets meet prescribed standards and are capable of facilitating seamless power transmission within MORESCO-1's service area. Commenting on the collaborative effort, Engr. Elarmo stated, "The joint inspection underscores our commitment to ensuring the integrity and efficiency of power transmission infrastructure. By working closely with MORESCO-1, we aim to address any potential issues proactively and uphold the highest standards of service delivery." The collaboration between Transco and MORESCO-1 reflects a broader initiative within the power sector to streamline operations, enhance reliability, and ultimately, provide improved services to consumers. As the inspection progresses, stakeholders remain optimistic about the outcomes, expecting it to lay the groundwork for further advancements in power transmission infrastructure in the region.

📈 Project engineers, are you making the right technology choices for your projects? In our latest blog, we suggest a TCO-oriented analysis as a more comprehensive approach compared to CAPEX-driven decisions. A TCO-oriented study considers not only capital expenditures but also operating expenditures, maintenance costs, energy costs, environmental costs, and disposal costs over the entire life cycle of the asset. This approach promotes the comparison of different alternatives before selecting the most fitting option, ultimately expanding value creation for the client. Ensure that your project's targets and stakeholder expectations align with your decisions.
