Returning to work after taking time away to parent, to care for a family member, or because of an extended period of illness can often be daunting. But many returners also find it a demoralising experience too. Far too many end up taking a more junior position and lower salary compared to their last role before their career break. How we get our young employees to stay longer with our company ℹ️ When building a tech company a great team is key for success. At the same time many companies in this sector suffer from high staff turnover, which both costs a lot of money and slows down growth. 👍 One of the things I'm the most proud of when building the company is all the young talents that have chosen to begin their carreer with us and then stayed stayed on for many years. Celebrating six years of RE:DISCOVER this week has been a moment of reflection for me. Four years ago, I was drawn to this business for several reasons that continue to drive me every day. Firstly, the opportunity to recruit internationally has allowed me to immerse myself in diverse markets, employment trends, and laws. Working across different time zones, from early mornings with Australia to late nights with the US, has given me the freedom to recruit anywhere, and I absolutely love it! Secondly, the categories we represent are filled with genuine NPD and technological advancements. The constant innovation in the categories we recruit for keeps our work exciting, with something new and category-defining always on the horizon. Thirdly, our brilliant candidates and clients are the backbone of our success. We are so lucky to have their trust as we support them in making significant life and business decisions. … and that is week 1 just about complete at H&MV and I can definitely say that joining has been a great decision. Just some points that have helped to reinforce this include; (aside from the great benefits and initiatives on offer) (1) 👷♀️ Endless examples of employees who have taken internal opportunities and progressed at a fantastic rate through the organization – this is not just a corporate claim, this is absolutely real in the case of H&MV. (2) 👷♂️ The culture is visibly very positive with a realization that the company is at a great time in its journey (our Glassdoor score of 4.3 helps reflect this also) – people are all super complimentary of the environment and really make the effort for you to feel welcome. (3) 👷♀️There is a focus on balance plus also having fun, with many different types of events happening regularly from the Sports and Social groups.
