Although we didn’t win the obscenely difficult quiz night on Tuesday (there wasn’t even one question about health economics or epidemiology!), the Quantify team did score highest in team spirit 😊

At an eight-week applied data analysis course for large publicly available surveys last week we dived into descriptive and inferential epidemiology. Our lecturer Dr. Agaku has a great sense of humor and is very involved in the process of teaching. I know one thing for sure, when you start to get acquainted with R-programming, you will not be able to live the same as before, knowing how powerful it is as an auxiliary tool for medical research. I am very grateful to the whole team Chisquares for the course! #DataAnalysis #ProfessionalDevelopment #phdstudents #phdresearch

🌍 Exploring the Intersection of Geography and Health: The Power of Spatial Epidemiology 🏥📊 In today's data-driven world, spatial epidemiology is transforming how we understand health outcomes and disease patterns across different geographic regions. By leveraging Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and advanced statistical models, this field uncovers critical insights into the spatial distribution of diseases, environmental exposures, and social determinants of health. Key applications include: ✅ Mapping disease clusters to identify outbreak "hotspots" ✅ Analyzing how factors like air quality, climate, and urbanization impact health outcomes ✅ Uncovering health disparities linked to geography and socioeconomic conditions ✅ Supporting targeted public health interventions to reduce disease burden From understanding the spread of infectious diseases to addressing environmental hazards like air pollution, spatial epidemiology empowers policymakers, public health professionals, and researchers to take data-driven actions that promote healthier communities. #SpatialEpidemiology #PublicHealth #DataScience #GIS #HealthDisparities #Epidemiology #HealthResearch #EnvironmentalHealth #GlobalHealth
