The Duplication of Purchase Law suggests that your main competitors are usually the BIG brands in your space. Customers tend to 'duplicate' their purchases across different brands within a category, often based on availability, price, promotions, or other specific needs at a given time. This means your potential new customers are more likely to come from bigger competitors than smaller ones. Check out the short video below to learn what you can do about it!

Just a tip for brands: Avoid using "30% off" as your go-to discount. It's overused. Try offers with real urgency and scarcity: - "Free shipping for the first 50 orders" - "Buy one, get one free today only" - "Free shipping for first x orders" You'll see a difference.

Price refers to how much the company will sell the product for. When establishing a price, companies must consider the unit cost price, marketing costs, and distribution expenses. Companies must also consider the price of competing products in the marketplace and whether their proposed price point is sufficient to represent a reasonable alternative for consumers. #price #4ps #digitalmarketing #cost

Driving Improved Trade Promotion Effectiveness for Small / Emerging CPG Brands through a Cost-Effective, Fractional Approach to Trade Spending Analysis, Process & Partnership.
Two questions on distributor OI's: Why does everyone do it? What do you get from it (as in measurable benefit)? Many brands spend a '15% OI once a quarter' because "distributors expect it". But is that really a good enough answer? While reflected to retailers for 4 weeks, no performance is required and the distributor will forward buy - in many cases, all of your volume at this rate. No margins are reduced, no extra volume is sold, but your wallet is 15% lighter. For a $5M brand, that's $750,000 - you can do a lot with that! The objective of trade spending is to increase your revenue and profitability, as well as improving your retailer relationships by assisting them in meeting their objectives as well. It should be a win for both the brand and the retailer. Each brand should have a specific trade strategy that is analyzed, with a focus on continuous improvement. Let's have some discussions with brands about this. How does your brand approach distributor OI's and what do you see as the benefits?
