Austria has officially signed the European Declaration on Quantum Technologies! This declaration, first outlined last year, establishes a strategic cooperation between EU member states to promote quantum technologies, and a commitment to cooperate in developing a European world-class quantum technology ecosystem. Austria has long been at the forefront of research in the quantum field. By signing this declaration, it is committing to continue supporting the commercialization of the technology and the transfer of knowledge from fundamental research into innovative products and services. Our Co-CEOs Wolfgang Lechner and Magdalena Hauser commented: "In order to keep Europe at the forefront of quantum computing, collaborations between all member states are essential. By signing the European Declaration on Quantum Technologies, Austria is now also promising to take the necessary next steps to strengthen research and the economy in this area. I'm very pleased to see the acceleration of #eu in the #QuantumComputing Economy with some ground-breaking actions and bold statements: - Become the #quantumvalley’ of the world - R&D programs alignment at EU level - Accelerate the transition from the “lab” to the “fab” and my favorite: "Build a pan-European quantum infrastructure of the future, both on Earth and in space" - how this is making so much sense to run a Quantum computer in #space. And for those who are not aware, address the largest challenge raised by Quantum Computing: the obsolescence of our current encryption techniques, like the entire #internet security standards. What an exciting time to witness and be part of the current acceleration of emerging technologies.

Quantinuum, the Broomfield-based quantum computing company, unveiled plans to open a new research and development hub in New Mexico. This site aims to advance photonics technologies, which are essential to the development of Quantinuum's trapped ion quantum computing technologies. New Mexico has positioned itself as a leader in quantum information sciences and photonics technologies.

It’s incredible to look back and see how far we’ve come at the WACQT - Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technology. The recently released Mid-Term Report showcases our progress: from developing a 25-qubit quantum processor to building a diverse community of over 200 researchers and engineers from around the world.    As one of WACQT’s Principal Investigators, I’m immensely proud of how this collaborative effort has positioned Sweden at the forefront of quantum technology. The strides we’re making are not only advancing science but also creating meaningful impacts for Swedish industry and beyond.    At Atlantic Quantum, our mission to develop fault-tolerant superconducting quantum computers is rooted in the foundational research and innovation fostered by WACQT, a synergy between pioneering research and entrepreneurial vision.    Thank you to everyone—at WACQT, Atlantic Quantum, and our partners like SCALINQ—who have contributed to these successes. I’m excited for what the future holds for all of us as we continue to shape the quantum revolution.
