The error rates across regulatory filings may surprise many but not at Convergence Inc. We have always believed that regulatory filing quality (RFQ) matters and it will become an increasingly more important indicator used by regulators, investors and service providers to evaluate an #rias compliance culture and risk. After all, if the #rias RFQ is poor, how good is their compliance with investor reporting standards, investment risk guidelines, marketing materials and other important compliance practices? The inputs used in almost all reg filings come from different groups within the firm so it’s no surprise that poor RFQ scores are often seen in Advisers cited in U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement actions.
