An interesting piece detailing infighting at one of the world's largest and most stories VC firms, Sequoia Capital. Leaving the details which curious folks can read in the attached article, more pertinent is the why all this is happening Weak returns /IPO slowdown and a slew of investments done in the bull run of covid having gone bad - most notably FTX and many of their overseas portfolios in China and India being massively marked down (even though they've hived off those divisions). So, it's not just startups globally facing the heat, it's GPs and fund managers also, from their LPs - all due to that FOMO phase. Thus, you hear terms like 'business fundamentals', 'Profits', 'Sustainability' over and over again off late! The situation won't get better anytime soon - at least this and the AI boom cycle doesn't help other companies in giving better returns. Expect lots of churn in the space.
