⚠️ Are we spending way too much time obsessing over our portfolios? I’ve reviewed and helped hundreds of junior designers for the last 3 years, and I see it all the time – hours spent polishing case studies to perfection, hoping that’s the ticket to success. But let’s be real: how much does a “perfect” portfolio actually get you? 👉What if that time went into building a real network, getting your name out there, and creating meaningful content and connection? Those things might open more doors than any polished project page ever will. What do you think? How much time should we spend on portfolios vs. networking and content creation? Network over Portfolios? #UXDesign #Portfolio #UX #Network

On a learning spree and I’ve discovered a design trend that’s really catching my eye 📌Microinteractions are taking center stage, and they're transforming how we experience digital products. These tiny animations—like a subtle button bounce or a smooth transition—add personality and polish to interfaces. Why should you care? Microinteractions enhance user engagement by making the experience more intuitive and delightful. Think of them as the “wow” moments in your design. ✅ Here’s how to get started: ◼ Keep it purposeful: Every microinteraction should serve a function or add value. ◼ Focus on timing: Too slow, and it feels sluggish; too fast, and it’s missed. ◼ Test user reactions: What feels intuitive for you might not be the same for others, so gather feedback. ❓ What’s your favorite microinteraction you’ve seen or used? #UXDesign #DesignTrends #UserExperience #DigitalDesign #CreativeProcess

📰 Another day, another blog in Medium that we are trying to make engaging. And while looking through our medium followed users. I realized,... 🙀 and I don't know how we haven't seen it before. We search in #medium for industry articles,..and there it its the white space...there are no possibilities of filtering results ??? They must have tested this, for sure, but we need our filter by date, popularity, most recent, keywords (they do have chips but not in a filter), who published it (a person, an agency, etc), and amount of reading time. Are we crazy? Does anyone know why there isn't a filter after searching? UX Pro Tip of the Day: Loss Aversion 💡 Ever notice how people feel the sting of a loss more than the joy of a win? That’s called loss aversion. Well, in a previous post, we talked about the framing effect and I mentioned loss aversion; I told you I was going to come back to this, so here we are! It’s a psychological principle where people naturally try to avoid losing something, even if gaining the same amount would feel good. In UX, this means users are more likely to stick with something if they feel safe from potential losses. Whether it’s time, effort, or even data, our job as designers is to minimize the risks they might face. By focusing on making choices feel beneficial and reducing negative outcomes, you can guide users to feel more confident and comfortable. Remember, it's not just about highlighting the wins – it’s about reducing the fear of the losses. A content designer plays a key role in influencing loss aversion through the language, structure, and clarity of the content presented to users. Here’s how: 1. Clear Communication of Benefits: Highlighting what users stand to gain makes potential losses feel less significant. 2. Reducing Uncertainty: Clear, instructional content alleviates confusion, making users feel more confident about their choices. 3. Building Trust: Transparent, honest content builds trust, reducing the fear of potential loss. 4. Framing Decisions Positively: Presenting options in a way that emphasizes gains rather than risks. 5. Reducing Fear of Commitment: Offering flexible options like free trials or easy cancellations reassures users, reducing hesitation. A quick example is a discount, free trial or a 30-day money-back guarantee you get from an online course! Or an indication of how many pieces of clothing are available to shop! Found this helpful? Let me know in the comments! #lossaversion #uxwriting #uxprotip #contentdesign

In today's crowded digital world, standing out requires more than just functionality. It's about creating experiences that users remember and love. There are some important factors that every designer must understand when creating: 1. Know your audience: Understand their needs, wants, and frustrations. What are they trying to achieve? What are their pain points? 2. Focus on clarity: Make sure your product is easy to use and understand. Navigation should be intuitive, and information should be presented clearly and concisely. 3. Design for delight: Go beyond the basics and add unexpected touches that surprise and please users. This could be a clever animation, a personalized message, or a helpful tip. 4. Tell a story: Craft a narrative that connects with users on an emotional level. This could be the story of your brand, the story of how your product helps users, or even the story of the user themselves. 5. Listen and learn: Continuously gather feedback from users and iterate on your design. Be open to suggestions and willing to adapt your product to meet their evolving needs. By focusing on these principles, you can create user experiences that are not only functional but also memorable and engaging. This will lead to increased user satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy for your product or service. If you find this helpful, like and repost.
