If I have to sum up my five years of law school journey in just one sentence then that would be "Grab that opportunity". Initially the path may look hazy to understand where this journey will take you, but I personally feel law school gives you ample time to make your base strong, choose your niche subject, grow your network and gain some valuable skills. It might look like a failed attempt when you are not selected by a law firm when you apply for an internship or don't score well in every single subject in a semester, but you have to consistently remind yourself, this is where it all starts. #lawschool #opportunity #skills #internship

I came into the firm heavily litigation minded, but I jumped seriously into getting experience in different practice areas. Law students, Do you have a goal or goals for your summer internship? I'd encourage you to have some, or at least one. I have a goal for our interns: I want to expose them to as many in court situations as possible. To do so, I have gone around and sought out opportunities for them, and I have tried to find those in our office who want to work with the interns. Why have a goal for the interns? They need to know if being a DA is something they want to pursue. They can't know this unless they get exposure to what DA's do. They have to see it first hand. They have to participate. And they have to be part of the team. This summer there are more than just DA interns in the courthouse. The PD's have interns, private firms have interns, we have college interns and even high schoolers coming through. I try to talk to all of these interns as well. Because we are a profession. And it is our duty and obligation to help those younger in the profession find their way. What's your goal for your summer internship? #lawstudents
