Ballarat Now and Into the Future - Enabling Growth: Central Highlands Water is proud to partner with other leading Ballarat organisations in identifying and advocating the need for critical infrastructure investment. A package of eight projects, five to be delivered by the City of Ballarat and two by Central Highlands Water, will help fast track 8,800 new homes and essential community facilities in the Ballarat West Growth Area.

I'm thrilled to share that I recently met with my counterpart, the Kenyan QS students representative Winfred Murugi , to discuss an exciting collaboration between our QS student bodies! As student representatives from Nigeria and Kenya, we recognized the potential for mutual growth and learning between our nations. Our goal is to foster a stronger connection between our student communities. By going through most of the comments made by us, we tend to blame the government of the day for such action? Why is there so much blame being placed on the government for the current situation. The students from the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) represent a segment of the country's young elite and are expected to act with responsibility and integrity. These students are being groomed as future leaders, and their actions should reflect the values and standards befitting their position. While high levels of education are important, they are not sufficient on their own if they are not accompanied by appropriate behavior and attitudes. If we, as individuals or as a collective, do not demonstrate the qualities of effective leadership through our actions, how can we justify our aspirations to lead the country in the future or the student body as we speak?

🌟 Empowering San Youth Through Vocational Training! 🌟 Since 2019, we’ve proudly supported over 1,200 San youth in Namibia through vocational training programs in partnership with the Namibia Community Skills Development Foundation. 💡✨ From Civil and Building Services Engineering to Cosmetology and Business Services, these courses connect students to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) via Community Skills Development Centres. This opens doors to recognized Technical Vocational Education (TVET) courses, enhancing their entrepreneurial skills and employability for mid-level job markets. Partners and collaborators in the DTCs 4 Youth Jobs Creation project, which includes ICRISAT, Egerton University, Tegemeo Cereals, USOMI, and Jufra Food Processors, led by Africa Harvest, recently conducted a two-day project review and planning workshop in Nairobi County, Kenya. The main objective of the workshop was to assess the achievements, successes, and challenges of the project's second year and to outline the monitoring and evaluation activities for the third year. The project implemented by Africa Harvest - lead partner, the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, spans several semi-arid regions, including Taita Taveta, Makueni, Machakos, Kitui, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Homa Bay, Siaya, Busia, and Elgeyo Marakwet. The project focuses on eight value chains including sorghum, finger millet, pearl millet, green grams, pigeon peas, groundnuts, poultry, and fish, and aims to achieve high yields in dry regions. Recognizing that financial rewards are a key motivator for young people to engage in agriculture, the project offers improved seed starter packs for each of the six crop value chains. These resilient seeds are designed to withstand climate challenges and reduce weather-related risks, making agriculture more appealing to young farmers.
