Honoured to speak among such prestigious industry leaders. Really good and important discussion One of my take away messages. Is food and fibre changing- yes faster than ever. Human needs are largely the same but we have more data about that then ever before. How we use this will be important in the way we shape companies and revenue models in this country in the future. If we don’t recognize that we must reduce stocking rates while contending with increase costs at border or increased reporting / hygiene factors at border and for lending (read increase cost of goods sold). We will have trouble keeping up with the price points consumers need. Efficiency + innovation on revenue models … spoiler alert… that’s why we do what we do Backstory, help brands win on the cost side with technology and be smarter in market to win attention and trust.

As I get ready to attend the upcoming IFSA Global Expo in California, I can’t help but reflect on how far both the event and our company have come 50 years later. My first experience at IFSA was back in the late ‘70s when my father, the founder of Calvetti Meats, would bring me along as though it were a vacation. Back then, the atmosphere was a bit different - perhaps more focused on entertainment than industry development. But one thing that has remained constant is the importance of being there, close to the action.
