📅 On World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, I am reminded of our duty of care to protect our elders from abuse and neglect. With the elder population projected to grow by 38% by 2030, especially in developing countries, the need for a global and direct response is urgent. (TW) Statistics show that: 1️⃣ 1 in 6 older adults has experienced abuse (Age UK, 2021). 2️⃣ Financial abuse affects 130,000 older people annually (Action on Elder Abuse, 2020). 3️⃣ Only 4% of elder abuse cases are reported (Hourglass, 2021). Elder abuse remains underreported globally, demanding approaches that consider cultural contexts and specific risk factors. In fact, organisations play a crucial role in safeguarding the elderly by promoting Cultural competence and implementing robust protection policies. Encourage your teams to be vigilant and supportive. For guidance and training on elder care, visit 🔗 sisdr.com. #ElderAbuse #HumanRights #Culture #SocialJustice #CulturalCompetence #EmployeeSupport

Violence against children is a grave injustice that can have long-lasting, devastating effects on their well-being and development. It’s essential to create a safe and supportive environment where children can grow and thrive without fear of harm or abuse. Let’s work together to prevent violence against children and ensure their rights are protected and respected. To prevent child abuse: 1. Educate yourself and others about child abuse and its signs. 2. Foster a safe and supportive environment for children to speak up. 3. Encourage open communication and listen to children. 4. Set clear boundaries and expectations. 5. Model healthy behavior and relationships. 6. Support families and provide resources. 7. Report concerns to authorities. 8. Advocate for policies and laws protecting children. 9. Organize community events and campaigns. 10. Provide counseling and support services. Remember, preventing child abuse requires a collective effort. Let’s work together to create a safe and nurturing environment for all children. Each year, an estimated 5 million older adults are abused, neglected, or exploited. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) was launched on June 15, 2006, by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations (UN). WEAAD aims to provide an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic, and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect. In addition, WEAAD is held in support of the UN International Plan of Action acknowledging the significance of elder abuse as a public health and human rights issue. This observance serves as a call-to-action for individuals, organizations, and communities to raise awareness about elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. #feidlerlawfirm #scnursinghomeabuse #nursinghomeabuse #scnursinghomeabuseattorneys #scnursinghomeneglect #nursinghomeneglect #scnursinghomeneglectattorneys #scnursinghomeattorneys #scnursinghomelawyers #nursinghomeabuseattorneys #nursinghomeneglectattorneys #scpersonalinjury #personalinjury #personalinjurylawyer #stopnursinghomeabuseandneglect #avoiceforthevoiceless #stopelderabuse
