Attention all blood donors! Your help is needed! We are currently seeking O negative and O positive blood donors to assist us in our efforts to save lives. Our friendly staff is eagerly waiting to greet you and provide a comfortable and positive blood donation experience. With our seven-day-a-week operation, donating blood has never been more convenient. Join Versiti Blood Center of Illinois in our mission to make a difference and save lives. Did you know: O negative blood is considered rare because it is found in only about 7% of the population. This blood type is particularly valuable in emergency situations when there is an immediate need for blood transfusions and the recipient's blood type is unknown. Since O negative blood can be given to individuals of any blood type, it is often in high demand. However, individuals with O negative blood can only receive O negative blood in return. Therefore, maintaining an adequate supply of O negative blood is crucial for hospitals and blood banks to ensure that they can meet the needs of patients in critical situations. #versiti #blooddonation #savelives #Onegative #Opositive

January is Blood Donor Awareness Month, and this is an opportunity to support a cause that is crucial to saving lives in our community. Did you know: • A single blood donation can save up to 3 lives. • Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. • About 36,000 units of red blood cells are needed daily in the U.S. • Blood cannot be manufactured; it can only come from generous donors. • More than 4.5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the U.S. and Canada. • Hydration is key before donating – increase your water intake 24-48 hours before you plan to give. If you are able, let's come together and make a positive difference in our community during Blood Donor Awareness Month! #BloodDonorAwarenessMonth #SaveLives #DonateBlood #MakeADifference

Donate Blood Save Life 🙏🏻 After donating blood, the body works to replenish the blood loss. This stimulates the production of new blood cells and in turn, helps in maintaining good health. TYPES OF DONATION The average human body contains about five liters of blood, which is made of several cellular and non-cellular components such as Red blood cell, Platelet, and Plasma. Each type of component has its unique properties and can be used for different indications. The donated blood is separated into these components by the blood centre and one donated unit can save upto four lives depending on the number of components separated from your blood. #donate #blood #save #life

Call yourself an innovator? Give blood! How Might We are always delighted to work with the Irish Blood Transfusion Service during Transformation Week. Any process improvement that attracts new donors and helps the IBTS team work better together feels like "making innovation real". We often talk about the "blood, sweat and tears" of innovation, so to any self-confessed innovator out there, be more literal. Your blood donation will help reduce the sweat of this heroic service and bring tears of joy to those in need. There is an urgent shortage of blood donations, so be brave.
