When texting or posting on social media about needing blood, you don't need to share the patient's three-generation details. If blood is needed, just mention the blood group, hospital name and address, contact number of the person with the patient, and include a Blood Requisition Paper or follow the first comment's instructions. You don’t need to provide details about the patient's relatives or anything beyond what's necessary. Note: Posting on social media to request blood should be the last option. Currently, there is a blood shortage, so I encourage you to donate if you are able. Best wishes. #BFN #RagataKaKura #bfnchangemakers #bloodcase

Every year people around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD). The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. Without blood donors I wouldn't be alive today. A blood service that gives patients access to safe blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system.Just one blood donation could save, or improve, up to three lives. In low-income countries, up to 54% of blood transfusions are given to children under 5 years of age. In high-income countries, the largest patient group is 60+ years of age, accounting for 76% of all transfusions. 118.5 million units of blood are donated every year. However, this is not sufficient to meet the global need. #WorldBloodDonorDay #BloodDonation #DonateBlood #WHOFides
