Did you know that it’s okay to switch off sometimes? That urge to observe every detail as you watch a show or attend an event? How often do you resist the urge to dissect every detail: “The lineup could’ve been stronger.” “The layout of the venue seems inefficient.” “I wonder how they managed the technical aspects.” Your natural instinct is to analyse events with a critical eye; but there’s beauty in simply being present. It’s okay to surrender to the experience: Attend that concert, conference, or community event as a guest - not a professional. Resist the temptation to evaluate every aspect. Instead, immerse yourself in the moment, embracing the opportunity to learn, enjoy, and be entertained. Yes, your mind may wander, as you’re naturally seeking out inspiration and improvement. But remember, it’s equally important to relax and savour the experience. God forbid you just revel in the feeling the event leaves you with. Sometimes, that’s enough. Learn to let go, even if just for a moment. That’s all. P.S. Share a memorable experience where you were able to switch off and enjoy an event without analysing it. P.P.S. Mine is usually concerts: Post Malone, Katy Perry, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Brian McKnight…: All these concerts left me with unique and special feelings.
