This reactionary move from Somalia highlights the paramount importance of peace. Diplomatic misunderstandings should be addressed through dialogue rather than escalating tensions to the point of endorsing armed groups in Ethiopia. The statement made by the Somali Foreign Minister seems to lack diplomatic finesse and is regrettably counterproductive, as it openly expresses hostility towards Ethiopia. Meanwhile, Ethiopia continues its activities while portraying itself as a victim on the international stage, particularly in light of the more aggressive rhetoric coming from Somalia. https://lnkd.in/er-AKX3J

#Genocide Tourism, it’s called – visiting places where terrible things have happened. More than 1,184,000 people visited #Auschwitz in 2022. Why? For some, it is the desire to try to understand the enormity – to grapple with the intentional murder of 6 million Jews, more than 1.1 million who were murdered at Auschwitz. Other tourists appear to be on a thrill-seeking journey, searching for the most lurid, graphic details of human violence and depravity. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗺𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁. Today, genocide tourism is flourishing in #Xinjiang Province in western #China, home to #Uyghur people. China is perpetrating genocide on this small ethno-religious group, yet despite years and years of documentation and witness testimony of the horrors, the Chinese Communist Party (#CCP) denies any responsibility. To support this denial, the CCP has organized tourist excursions into Xinjiang to show that the Uyghurs are living happy and prosperous lives. The history of Ethiopia is based on colonialism, land grabbing and slavery. It has become a habit for every Ethiopian regime to oppress other ethnic groups. There is distrust and hatred among the ethnic groups in the country, and no ethnic group in its region allows another ethnic group to live with their region. The solution for Ethiopia is to divide it into countries. This is what all Ethiopian ethnic scholars believe now, so that the ethnic groups can become peaceful neighbors. If this is not done, the ethnic groups in Ethiopia will soon become like self-eating barbarians.

With the renewed disputes over the sovereignty of the three #Persian islands (#bumusa and #Tunbs), it may be worth revisiting the chapter I co-authored with my friend and colleague, Saba Sotoudehfar. In this chapter, we explain why these islands have historically been part of #Iran and the Persian people. It offers a well-documented account, backed by solid historical evidence.
