First American Financial Corporation Cyberattack: The second-largest title insurance company in the U.S., First American Financial Corporation, has experienced a cyberattack, leading to the company taking certain systems offline to contain the impact. Previous Cybersecurity Violations: First American Financial Corporation had previously faced cybersecurity issues in May 2019, resulting in a $1 million penalty for violating New York's Department of Financial Services' Cybersecurity Regulation. The breach involved a vulnerability in their EaglePro application, allowing unauthorized access to sensitive documents. Industry-Wide Impact: Another major title insurance provider, Fidelity National Financial, disclosed a similar cybersecurity incident last month. The company took containment measures, including blocking access to certain systems, and is working on restoring normal business operations. The ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware gang claimed responsibility for the Fidelity National Financial breach. https://lnkd.in/db8xFbTt
