We know this 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙧 𝙐𝙎 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙢 very well and have lots of information to share with you when we talk to you about the opportunity with the 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 team in 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻. We are looking for a 5 pqe + lawyer from the UK or Australia / international candidate. What the hiring partner wants: 1. A “highly qualified” individual with “tones of experience”. 5PQE plus. 2. This deal team regularly sees Magic Circle and other top US firms on the other side of deals. Someone coming out of one of these firms would make a good candidate. 3. Candidates with good deal experience coming from a leading energy / projects firm also would be of interest. Australia was specifically mentioned. 4. Someone who can be a “good citizen” of the firm, and get involved with internal/external networking as well as extra-curricular activities. 5. Would be open to hiring leveraged finance associates who want to move into project finance. To caveat, candidates would need to show on their CV/deal sheet that they have acted in the energy space, and they would have 1-2PQE deducted. Do not burn your bridges! 🔥 The corporate governance market is, on the whole, quite small. When leaving your employer for a new role, it can be tempting to push for an early exit date, or take your foot off the gas whilst working your notice period. Whilst this is a natural behaviour given the excitement of wanting to join your new employer, it's really important to exit on good terms. Finish that project to a high standard, give a comprehensive handover, and support your current team as much as possible whilst in your notice period. Burning your bridges could come back to haunt you...! Building and maintaining positive relationships is a key skill of anyone working in the corporate governance world, and it's also vitally important when navigating your career. I have recently reconnected with someone I placed as a Senior Auditor 13 years ago. We kept in touch over the years and they're now a Head of Audit. They've been growing their team and worked with me solely to recruit two new team members. Aside from making me realise I am getting old, it demonstrates the power of maintaining relationships over the long-term. Remember, never burn your bridges!

Go on, expand your horizon! First is the background picture that catches my attention but most importantly also is the words, "Go on, expand your horizon". In the professional world, it is always echoed to specialise but in a world where your client is from a diverse background, I dare say legal practitioners and professionals like myself, must "wear several hats" and "see from a diverse lens" to meet the expectations of your client. To do successfully you must expand your horizons, which could sometimes mean that you take on a job in an uncharted path yet commit your hands to the adage "Whatever your hands find to do, do it well". Whether it's a small task, a significant project, or a job (unrelated to your profession), dedicating oneself wholeheartedly to the task at hand can lead to remarkable outcomes for the present or the future. It underscores the importance of commitment, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic in achieving success. I have decided to take on every opportunity that presents itself for self-improvement in understanding how businesses serve their clients or customers in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Industry and Financial Services Sector in the United Kingdom. These are among the top 5 essential sectors of the UK Government, which account for 10.4% and 9.0% of the gross value add (GVA) respectively. This for me is a big deal and would serve as a reminder to approach each opportunity with enthusiasm, open mind, diligence, and a determination to exceed the expectations of that one person - my client.
