As part of the Rejuvenation Startup Summit 2024 by Forever Healthy, I was fortunate to lead an interview with the pioneer and leading expert in the field of Therapeutic Apheresis and longevity, Dobri Kiprov. 🔬 Key Highlights: - Experience in #Plasmapheresis: Dobri Kiprov has been in the field of plasmapheresis for about 40 years. - Origin of the Idea: The idea for using plasmapheresis for rejuvenation originated from mouse experiments at Stanford University, which involved exchanging blood between young and old mice and observing tissue and brain changes. - Plasma Exchange Process: The procedure involves replacing old plasma with new plasma and albumin, a major protein in plasma with potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. - Rejuvenation of organs: The process helps different organs become biologically younger, which is crucial for preventing diseases associated with aging. - Significant Results: The most notable outcome is the decrease in biological age, with patients experiencing younger organ functions and overall rejuvenation, supported by various tests and testimonials. This conversation dives deep into the science and potential of plasma exchange. Benefit from Dobri Kiprov’s expertise on this topic. . 👀 Watch the full video and join the conversation! Let’s explore the future of aging together. 💬 Your thoughts? Share your comments and let’s discuss the possibilities! 🖤 Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Frank Schueler for his support at the RSS and to Kizoo Ventures and Michael Greve. #longevity #dobrikiprov #plasmatransfer #bloodexchange #RejuvenationStartupSummit2024

Less than 3 weeks till the start of the world’s leading conference in longevity space -- #ARDD2024! 🚀 Already traditional, the 11th Aging Research and Drug Discovery Conference will gather drug discovery, biotech, and aging research minds from across the globe in a campus of the Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen . This year’s ARDD will feature Longevity Medicine Track, Emerging Science & Technologies Workshop, and Physics in Aging Biology Workshop, among others. Some of the key themes this year: ✅ latest advancements in molecular and cellular mechanisms of aging, ✅ biomarkers of aging, and age-related diseases, ✅ translating these findings into clinical applications. One of the cool features of the 2024 event is that it will host the inaugural XPRIZE Healthspan Team Summit. It is part of a $101 million global competition aimed at revolutionizing therapeutic approaches to aging by extending muscle, cognition, and immune function. I will also be judging the Startup Pitch session on Thursday, August 29th and I think this is a particularly great chance for ambitious startups in drug discovery, biotech, or longevity fields to get in front of not only our fund, LongeVC but also other investors, mentors, and potential clients. The Startup Pitch panel will be moderated by Jitka Kolarova, Lead for Innovations in Health and Healthcare at World Economic Forum, and other judges include: Katerina Stroponiati - Founder of Brilliant Minds Jens Nielsen - CEO at BioInnovation Institute Reach out to us at BAKULA@sund.ku.dk for more information on how to participate. Or DM me if you are interested specifically in opportunities with LongeVC or myself. Don't miss this opportunity to shine at the world's leading longevity event hashtag#ARDD2024 and take your startup to the next level! 🚀 #StartupPitch #agingresearch #longevity #venturecapital Alex Zhavoronkov Morten Scheibye-Knudsen Daniela Bakula Evelyne Bischof, MD, PhD Longevity Science Foundation Image credit: ARDD

Weizmann alumni make their impact everywhere: in the academia, in the world of entrepreneurship, and in the business sector in just about every aspect that improves human life. But beyond gaining exceptional research experience, being a student at Weizmann is about making friends, who later become colleagues and partners in the lifetime journey of the scientific career. https://lnkd.in/dC7B4ted #weizmannalumni #WeizmannInstituteofScience
Fifteen years ago, I finished my PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS) and set sail into the world of Lab-Automation, founding my companies Robiotec Ltd. and SciRobotics. Those six years at WIS, surrounded by amazing people in Prof. @Uri Alon Alon and Prof. Udi Shapira's labs were incredibly significant to my journey. Recently, I reconnected with my friends from the Alon lab in an enjoyable online reunion. Many of the lab members have become leading Scientists at top universities. What's even more astounding is discovering how many innovative companies have emerged from our small group of students in just two labs during my time at WIS. This surge in entrepreneurship underscores the tremendous value that foundational research institutions like WIS contribute to our society and to our country. I am proud and fortunate to have been part of WIS, learning alongside such bright and innovative minds. Our funded research got published! 📚🔬 congratulations to Vaijayanti Gupta , Vijay Chandru and team. Check out the groundbreaking findings that will contribute to advancing knowledge in CRISPR SARS- CoV-2 test in wastewater sample. 🌐 #Research #Publication #Team CRISPR-based SARS-CoV-2 test not only swiftly identifies the virus in a few hours at the bedside but also distinguishes its variants in the same timeframe. 💡 Addressing a critical issue from the first wave, this test bridges the gap between rapid virus detection and variant confirmation, preventing cross-infections in hospitals. 🏥 This assay is a game-changer, offering a rapid and efficient solution to detect virus variants in wastewater, contributing to public health. 🌍🔬 #COVID19 #Research #Innovation #PublicHealth
Congratulations Vaijayanti Gupta, Reety Arora, Vijay Chandru and team CrisprBits Private Limited on developing an accurate, sensitive test based on Crispr-Cas for Omicron detection. I have seen how well the test works in both clinical and environmental samples and am excited to witness the journey of both technology and company! Room temperature tests that are also point-of-care are the future of diagnostics and I am grateful that we at Molecular Solutions Care Health could contribute a small part in the validation of this test and others 🙏
