Totally annoyed with the mindsets of our management professionals in terms of Human Resources. if candidate is having gap due to genuine reasons they try to negotiate their salaries and bring them down below what they used to get. ( Getting cost cuttings in such way will negatively impact on company itself as chances of retention with such kind of selections are lesser. it's better either match their last drawn salary / provide salary as per the role and talent n skills required for such role / give hike on present one so as to get best results from candidate as if such candidate turns out as employee will surely give efficient results for self as well as organization. Dear HR stop making narrow mindset. Organisation can grow only when there is growth of Employees. #hr #business #job #employee #employeerelations #trending #vacancy #jobvacancy #humanresources #growth #businessdevelopment

Reading the CIPD Spring 2024 labour market outlook, it validates some thoughts I’ve been having recently about retaining existing employees. We all know the old saying “it’s costs more to replace than to retain existing” however there are more and more companies unable to retain staff, and the costs of rehiring reduces the value they can deliver to their existing staff. Budgets… :( I’ve spent the last 10 years or so in multiple roles involved in employee engagement, leadership roles and change management roles. And it’s all the same, under invest and increase workload of existing employee’s. The report shows that 36% of businesses are increasing responsibilities of existing employees because they’re finding it hard to hire. 2024 is the year to invest, listen and connect with your employees, it’s a lot more than a pizza on a Friday or a one time yearly survey with no action or change afterwards. I’d love to hear what you’re doing to connect with your employees currently? And what you’re doing to retain good employees? Helen Marshall thanks for sharing this this morning, it was a great read!! https://lnkd.in/dZJi37mS

Chief Executive Officer of Investors in People Community Interest Company and Member of Board of Management, Forth Valley College
With the latest Office for National Statistics market labour stats released today, I am encouraged to see that annual pay growth and employment rates have risen. As I wrote in HR magazine, while vacancies have also declined, the long-term picture for growth remains the same. Employers need to focus on investing in their own workforce, to support them to be more productive, as well as investing in new technologies. Investors in People #MakeWorkBetter
