Article highlighting work by a UK Planning Ecologist to shine a light on deficiencies in the implementation of mitigation. It's so important (and for good reason, is legally binding) to thoroughly follow through on conditions of planning. We need to ensure that where possible (and where promised) we maintain, conserve and restore habitats and species while developing sites. Projects, conducted in the right places, following detailed feasibility studies, also offer opportunities for site enhancements... but a lot of residential cats in a field of skylarks clearly isn't the right location for such a development. Early ecological feasibility studies are paramount, if we are to avoid such scenarios.
