R&K Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (R&K) strives to provide exceptional services to our customers, leveraging our reliable, knowledgeable, and innovative professionals to exceed their expectations. Our North Star Award for Outstanding Employee Performance recognizes exceptional service that exceeds customer expectations and promotes R&K’s core values of integrity, excellence, and teamwork We are pleased to recognize North Star Award Recipients Mr. Michael Keiss, MSHRD and Mr. Rodney Green! Michael is a Senior Air-Surface Operation analyst supporting the GREEN FLAG Support Element Task Order, and Site Lead for our team at Fort Johnson, Louisiana. During this quarter, Michael continued his outstanding leadership and management of the 548th Combat Training Squadron (CTS) Exercise Support Element (ESE). During this quarter, Michael, on his own initiative, completed a six-month effort to develop an all-encompassing exercise event collection database. The database enables analysts to enter all exercise data prior to the start of an exercise and capture real-time data as operations are being executed. It also enables multiple analysts to enter data into the shared database in real time and at the same time. The first use of the “CAS Database” was a huge success in facilitating the first-ever fully functional Joint Air Ground Integration Center (JAGIC). Its employment allowed the JAGIC to operate as the sole ASOC providing procedural control, Joint Tactical Air Strike Request approvals, and Situation Reports for the Brigade Tactical Air Control Party maneuver elements. The system simultaneously allowed the ESE to monitor and develop qualitative data without requiring the JAGIC to operate as a relay for the ESE. Rod supports the 57th Wing Standardization and Evaluation (Stan/Eval) Office as the Wing Stan/Eval and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program Manager, also under R&K’s GREEN FLAG Support Element contract at Nellis AFB, Nevada. During this quarter – as always – Rod demonstrated outstanding professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail. This was demonstrated when the Chief of Stan/Eval requested Rod represent the him at 57 WG Stand-up where he debriefed leadership on all current and future projects being conducted within the 57 WG Stan/Eval Department. Rod continued his outstanding work as the 57 WG Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Program Manager, a high-emphasis area of Stan/Eval for the Wing Commander. As a result of the outstanding support he provided to the 57 WG, Rod was recognized by the 57 WG Deputy Commander with a Letter of Appreciation stating, “Rod consistently exceeds expectations for the tasks assigned to him and is the continuity for this shop in both a technical and leadership perspective that keeps operations consistently running.” We are proud to have Rod and Michael on the R&K team, and are excited to recognize them for their support to our customers and their follow teammates. Congratulations, and keep up the great work!

💡Digital Transformation Truth⁉️💡 "There’s a sweet spot of Venn overlap between ease of input and ease of extract that defines how effective your data collection tool will be." Hot take: Microsoft PowerBI is going to be the Logistics Common Operating Picture (LOGCOP) visualization tool of choice at the brigade and battalion level because it is extremely easy to input and extract data. Personal impact: I will invest time to develop example PowerBI workflows for all the data products I develope in Vantage (Palantir Foundry) at the tactical level in the hopes that some units voluntarily adop them and help improve their accuracy.
Tragically, the army is in a perpetual state of data loss. In just one special forces group there are 54 separate ODAs each executing over sixty to eighty JCETs, off-post training events, subject matter expert exchanges, joint and partner force exercises, and combat training center rotations. Each team does multiple combinations of these in a single year. But ODAs are always busy, so the next mission often means things don’t get written down from the last one. Anything not written down is on the verge of being lost or forgotten. Layer in the PCS cycle and most organizations are bleeding irreplicable knowledge at a catastrophic pace. Some army units see between 1/3 and 2/3 of their personnel physically move to a new post every single year. Regardless, almost half the army seems to get a new job every year.

The 27th Special Operations Wing out of Cannon Air Force Base recently conducted a Combat Readiness Inspection, a first for Air Force Special Operations Command. The Combat Readiness Inspection is a new assessment method for AFSOC to evaluate the readiness of a wing to perform mission-essential tasks at the highest assigned threat levels. “Overall, the 27th Special Operations Wing set the benchmark for the future of Combat Readiness Inspections” said Lt. Gen. Mike Conley, AFSOC commander. “The goal for this event was never perfection. We wanted the Wing to be all in, face tough challenges, discover areas for improvement, and work together to problem solve for the future…and they did just that. The CRI was a true reflection of AFSOC culture – a willingness to take on challenges that others may shy away from, even when success isn’t guaranteed. This mindset is key as we learn, grow, and continuously improve our readiness for current and future conflicts.” Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e-unZpfp

Innovative Enterprise Architect | Strategic IT Solutions | Driving Innovation and Efficiency | Leading Cross-Functional Teams | Aligning Technology with Mission Objectives
The United States Marine Corps is introducing a new warrant officer job, the Command and Control Interface Control Officer, focused on facilitating the exchange of information across networks. To fill this role, the Corps is seeking enlisted Marines with air-control expertise and proficiency in communication practices and technologies, including NATO's secure network, Link 16. This initiative is part of the Marine Corps' efforts to update command and control capabilities under the Force Design revamp. The goal is to adapt the aviation community's command-and-control approach and establish C2-specific formations. The new warrant officer position aligns with the United States Department of Defense's Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) concept, which aims to interlink land, air, sea, space, and cyber forces' networks for efficient operations. The proliferation of advanced communications equipment and digital threats necessitated the creation of this role. Selected Marines will undergo training, including the Warrant Officer Basic Course and Joint Interface Control Officer Course. Additional command-and-control and air-operations courses are recommended. Interested Marines should watch for the upcoming promotion announcement in the "Fiscal Year 2025 Enlisted to Warrant Officer Regular Selection Board MARADMIN." By leveraging the expertise of air-control specialists, the Marine Corps aims to enhance information sharing and coordination across services and with international partners. This new opportunity presents a chance for qualified Marines to contribute to the evolving landscape of command and control in the military. #MarineCorps #WarrantOfficer #DataSharing #militaryjobs #commandandcontrol #informationexchange

I have been at a military base the past week working with Soldiers and Marines. I am here with several other teams of vendors that work in the C-UAS field. The one thing I consistently see as far as the C-UAS fight, is the importance of units learning how to develop and integrate the C-UAS fundamentals i.e., early warning, layered defense design, rapid airspace deconfliction, multi level command and control, delegation of target engagement authority and incident and engagement reporting. Commanders need to methodically develope and rehearse their detection, kinetic, non-kinetic and operational PACE plans. Each unit is unique and has to incorporate what available assets they have. I've seen units get pretty creative over the years. We definitely need to get more systems down to the unit level. We are all learning. Many people can talk about systems and technology, but we need to get out to the field and develop tactics. Tactics come from quality training events based upon real world events. And you can not cookie cutter C-UAS operations. Focusing on the fundamentals, as I mentioned before, will get units closer to where they need to be. The technology and tactic curve is so rapid. It is a very tough challenge to try to stay on the leading edge. Working with the people who have actually been on the frontline of the C-UAS fight is beneficial, unfortunately there are not many of them at this point.
