US Leadership in nuclear energy and advancing global security AtlanticCouncil 9 Dec 2023 Nuclear energy provides a source of clean, reliable, and affordable power. Siting small modular reactors at retired coal plants offers the energy sector the opportunity to leverage existing infrastructure as well as existing workforce capabilities. The panelists will discuss the potential to repower retired coal plants with small modular reactors, and explore US and international use cases for "coal-to-nuclear" conversion.
