What role does the exec have in helping drive those initiatives? What company metrics indicate success or failure? 🌊 What macro-trends exist in the industry that could make an impact? What macro-trends for the exec’s function (sales, marketing, ops, finance) could make an impact? If you can show that you understand those things, the exec will be much more responsive to your outreach and meetings for two reasons: 1. Because it’ll be much more relevant. 2. I am surprised by how often salespeople ask me whether they should reach out to C-level, Mid-level managers or the lower level employees One thing is absolutely certain: The higher you go, the faster you will close the deal No doubt about that Think about it What happens with more ease? 1️⃣ You talking to your CEO Or 2️⃣ Your CEO talking to you? If you are not the CEO yourself, it is usually 2️⃣ Why? The nature of power - it allows people to be more direct, open and confident Information will flow down much faster than up If you have the buy-in of an executive early on, people will move faster in general There is one little twist though: Don't go higher than what you sell allows for There is no point calling the CEO if you sell a technology that will cost the client < 5'000 $ and has no strategic value for the company PS: In Central Europe, C-level execs are actually also among those least cold called. That is your opportunity
