7 secrets videographers don't want you to know about: 1. They often forget the cap on the lens and wondering why they see pitch black 2. They might forget to press record and get 3 panic and 1 heart attack within 30 seconds 3. A gimbal never takes 5 minutes to setup no matter how fast they're 4. If you change the whole concept on the shoot day and they tell you 'of course no worries' there is a maximum amount of worries 5. Your excuse for not paying an invoice on time is not appreciated 6. 'It's a simple shoot, no need for a brief, let's figure it out on the day.' means that the project is going to have at least 4 revisions and will get delayed by 1 month 7. If you've followed me for any amount of time, you know the topic of delivering raw files without appropriate discussion is one of my favorite topics to dive into. Log footage, or "raw" footage, is the unprocessed files straight from the camera. This flat and grey look gives editors more dynamic range aka more room to play with color. That’s why many video pros are hesitant to hand over raw footage without proper context. Always communicate with your clients about this. Raw footage needs proper color grading and correction and a client understanding of the work required to make it usable prior to delivery. #videoproduction #videoediting #logfootage
