Sight and sound from the ongoing training of 5000 smallholder farmers across 18 local government areas in Cross River State. This training is being carried out by FutuX Agri-consult Limited as part of the #ProjectGROW initiative by AFOS Foundation-Nigeria in partnership with the Cross River State Government. Farmers are trained simultaneously in 54 centers in Cross River state, the key focus includes: - Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) - Financial Literacy/Farmer Business School - Record Keeping - Cooperative Formation to access Finance, and Markets We are excited to see the change in perspective from participants. The Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council recently met and heard from DATCP’s Division of Agricultural Development. Karen Endres spoke about the Wisconsin Farm Center and the services they provide for farmer mental health. Council members learned that the number one stressor to Wisconsin farmers is time pressure to complete their workload. They also learned from Jacob Leum who spoke about the International Agribusiness Center at DATCP. Jacob shared that Wisconsin agricultural exports in 2023 totaled $3.87 billion dollars, and he shared how they offer consultations to help companies expand their exports internationally. #WisconsinAgricultureYouthCouncil #NationalMentoringMonth #DATCP
