Do you trade under your personal name? Think you can't register your personal name as a trade mark? Think again! Your personal name can be as much a trade mark as any other business name. It lets people know that products or services are from you, and assures the best possible quality and service. Why wouldn't you protect your most valuable business asset? You'd be in good company too... Elton John, David and Victoria Beckham, Michael Kors, Roger Federer and Taylor Swift have all protected their names as trade marks. This stops others free-riding on their fame and status as leaders in their field. Now you might not be THAT famous, but your name is your trade mark, in exactly the same way. Ask me how I can help protect it. 🤩

Worth listening to. If you are just starting your career? A solid road map. And if you are further down the career path, a good reminder. “Effortless is a myth.”

Exemplars by "The Exemplary" himself. Came across this wonderful speech from the Tennis legend Roger Federer, who labels himself as "Graduated from tennis" My takeaways : 1. Effortless is myth: Every single task, each skill one wants to master, requires meticulous and channelized efforts with consistent hardwork. So put in your heart, sweat untill it starts to look easy and effortless. 2. Grit overpowers Talent: Talent is surely a gift....but what makes difference in long run is GRIT. Grit to be consistent, grit to put in efforts, grit to accept the shortcomings, grit to not Let Go with mediocre results, grit to start over again with greater enthusiasm and greater zeal. Keep working, keep competing and keep winning. 3.Live life "Point to point" : Even the G.O.A.T Federrer is having a success rate of around 54%, when it comes to the points won over his entire career. Live in the present, focus on the present, give your best shot....and when it's over.....it's OVER.....move ahead...find the new present and the cycle continues. The entire game lies in the agility of moving forward....and along the way...celebrate wins, embrace losses, honour camaraderie and love the process. And the final one Life is bigger than the court.....your work can show you the world....but come out of the misconception that Only work is the world. #grit #consistency #effortsmatter

Try as I might, I never mastered his awesome topspin backhand on court, but these are wise words from a legend. We can all emulate his advice on effort and learning from your failures though. His statistic about winning 80% of matches but only 54% of points really shows the absolute value of not having to win every point. Pick your battles and aim to win the important ones - something I’ll try to focus on in the coming months and years.
