In the context of European #highereducation, learning and teaching centres are generally located within an institution, with their primary mission being to support the development of the institution’s learning and teaching. This report presents the findings of the 2023 EUA #Learning & #Teaching Thematic Peer Group “Development and strategic benefits of learning and teaching centres”. It begins with a presentation of the centres represented in the group and proceeds by presenting a virtuous cycle model for the continuous advancement of centres. Recommendations accompany each of the model’s elements and, where possible, are illustrated through real-world practices. In today’s Cedefop’s event 'The shift to #learningoutcomes; Rhetoric or reality?', more than 150 participants from around the world have joined and contributed to interactive group discussions around the impact of learning outcomes. The first group discussion focused on the impact of #learningoutcomes on school-based #curricula and #teaching practices, highlighting the following key messages: ✔ Learning outcomes have become a key concept for the (re)design of #qualifications and #curricula at a macro policy level across countries. ✔ In practice, more in-school #support and #guidance is needed. ✔Important to focus on both curriculum #alignment and #coherence. ✔Talking about learning outcomes requires paying attention to the process of #learning itself. ✔Learning outcomes promote learner #autonomy, #awareness of the learning process and #assessment. ✔Learning outcomes shed light not only to #knowledge, but also to #skills and #attitudes. ✔Writting learning outcomes in an easily accessible #language and applying them in an #intentional way. ✔Link and mutual trust between the different education sectors and #validation for non-formal and #informal learning; a process of negotiation among #stakeholders.  ✔Learning outcomes can support #microcredentials in terms of transparency and recognition; also for teacher #CPD. ✔More #research and a #tool on existing good practices and knowledge would be welcomed! #VETLearningOutcomes, #qualifications, #credentials, #lifelonglearning, #competence, #skills, #teacher, #learner, #teachereducation More information 👉 https://lnkd.in/e74Tia_R Anastasia Pouliou, Loukas Zahilas, Iraklis Pliakis, Zelda Azzarà, Maite Santos, Zeynep S.

𝑨𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈: Review curriculum, set academic goals, and schedule professional development. 3. 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑨𝒇𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒔: Organize orientations, update the handbook, and strengthen support systems like counseling. 4. 𝑨𝒅𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 & 𝑭𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆: Review the budget, update safety protocols, and plan parent-teacher meetings. 5. It serves as a guiding framework for the teaching and learning process within a unit. It connects a unit's main idea to real-world contexts, integrating key concepts and global contexts. The purpose is to provide a clear direction and encouraging deeper thinking . Statements of inquiry are a useful tool for teachers and students to use when identifying factual, conceptual, and contentious inquiry questions.
