Isle of Man TT Races RIDERS ENCOURAGED TO TORQ Dan Kneen Charitable Fund partners with Rock2Recovery to create TORQ: a mental health and wellbeing support service for the TT paddock. It’s good to talk, we all say. Sadly though, we’re not always very good at following our own advice; especially when our mental health is suffering. One group looking to spark the conversation – at least among the hundreds of people who race, work or volunteer at the TT – is the Dan Kneen Charitable Fund. They have partnered with the mental health charity, Rock2Recovery, to create TORQ: a ground-breaking welfare service available to anyone affected by a serious racing incident on the TT Mountain Course. Filling a current void in rider health and welfare, TORQ will strive to create positive change when it is needed the most. This may include the provision of refocusing support for competitors coming to terms with serious injury or the mental health issues attributable to long periods of recovery; coaching for the friends and family of competitors who have suffered life-changing injuries; or assistance for those sadly coming to terms with the sudden loss of a loved one. The service forms part of the recently announced drive to further enhance medical standards at the TT and is fully endorsed by the event’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr Gareth Davies, and Clerk of the Course, Gary Thompson MBE BEM, who not only identify with Rock2Recovery, but also recognise the specific expertise and specialist experience their staff will bring to the paddock. Did you know our future sports stars like the WADE family, that represent Ireland each year have parents that save every penny to help their children get close to their dream. Mizzoni's Pizza help them every tournament by donating funds. But they need more support. The Government give these aspiring young athletes that represent Ireland's brand so proundly - ZERO funds... Not even €1.... Thats right, Sporting Ireland and other organisations that get very small funds from the government do NOT have enough funds for our individual sports athletes across the board. Instead group sports like GAA get the pool of funds. More needs to be said about this. When you consider countries similar to Ireland like the UK and Australia, the government and major sponors get involved with young talent paying for all their travel, sports wear, physio, etc etc... Not in Ireland...... A whooping €95 Million euros goes to animal racing! Let that sink in.... Animal racing is more important to fund then Irish children with dreams of being world champions. Not to mention their parents have lost their lives as they literally count pennies on a daily basis, beg companies to pay for flights, accommodation, and Parents also have to pay for the fees and memberships of sporting groups...... If you think this is wrong, and families like the Wade family should get governemnt support - let us know in the comment section: But before you do - relax and order one of our pizzas online at the below link: unless your training for a competition 😀

🧩✨ #AutismAwareness Top 36 Golf Course Rankings: Post 20 - Course #17⛳️ 🧩 💰 DONATE - Please help us get there by donating $36 today: https://lnkd.in/e4MFcQfd To represent the 1 in 36 kids affected by Autism in the US, I will be counting down my Top 36 Golf Courses that I have ever played with a short story/memory for each. If you could please consider donating $36 (or more) to Els for Autism via the link above, I would appreciate it ❤️ Golf Course #17 - Ohoopee Match Club As we make our way to course #17, we go to play one of the newest golf courses on my list, Ohoopee Match Club. Opening in 2018, Ohoopee is found in the rural town of Cobbtown, GA and was designed by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner. It is owned by successful businessman and golf enthusiast, Michael Walrath, who at age 32 sold his company, Right Media, to Yahoo. Often recognized by its unique “onion” logo, the land on which the course sits used to be a successful onion farm. This type of soil and dunes lends itself to be the perfect turf for excellent golf course conditions, often playing firm and fast to challenge the golfer’s creativity. The word that comes to mind when thinking about the Ohoopee experience is FUN - the lodging, food, service, caddies, and course are amazing and create a memorable weekend. One of the most unique things about Ohoopee is that the course has 22 holes in total with two different 18-hole routings, the championship routing and the whiskey routing, which enables you to have a totally different round while playing on the same property. One other unique aspect that caught me off guard is there are no tee markers. This is by design as the course is meant to be played with Match Play, allowing the golfer with honors to choose how he/she wants the hole to be played. I was amazed by Ohoopee and “the hang” it creates, which has proven to be the successful modern course model that many other courses now are trying to immulate. If you go to play Ohoopee soon, I have no doubt that you will have an amazing time ⛳️

How apropos that on July 4th we announce our LIVE event on July 11th with the incredible men of Courser Racing. If you haven't seen that, you can join the event here: https://lnkd.in/e5sxxuZB Peter , Chris, Blake, and Jamie are former Special Operators that served our country with honor. They founded Courser Racing, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 2023, in Charleston, SC to help Veterans, Law Enforcement, and Firefighters by placing them on Ocean Rowing Expeditions to support their transition to the civilian workforce. Courser Racing chose Ocean Rowing as a vehicle for transition support because it is relatively low cost (the ocean is free) and it mirrors the rigors of service required of Special Operations Veterans, Law Enforcement, and Firefighter/ EMS personnel. Like warfare, law enforcement, disaster response, and emergency medical services, Ocean Rowing requires physicality, mental acuity, emotional resilience, risk mitigation/ contingency planning, systems implementation, technological prowess, and inventory management. Courser Racing provides support to these communities through a team-based robust maritime training regimen (simulating the rigor of a deployment cycle or emergency response preparation), by leveraging a professional business mentor network for job placement and providing business experience through organic non-profit activities including fundraising, P+L management, recruiting, marketing, donor relations, and sponsorship contract negotiations. The Courser Racing Methodology supports those transitioning to the civilian workforce in 6-12 month "cohorts". Each Cohort is subdivided into four-man teams based on past experiences, aptitude, geographic location, professional aspirations, and interpersonal qualities. Once Teams are assigned, each team is given training plans, objectives, training dates, and assigned a set of mentors for transition support. Upon the culmination of the training iterations in Charleston, SC, the Teams complete their "Expeditions" launching on Courser Racing's Rannoch R45 from Charleston, SC or Pensacola, FL to a (reasonable) destination of their choice. Funds raised by the Teams will be donated to a charity of their choosing with a portion of funds set aside to ensure Courser Racing has operating capital to ensure assets and travel are secured. 🌟Share this with others. 🌟Come ask questions at the live. 🌟Get Involved. 🌟Take Action to help our Veterans. #VetsHelpingVets, #OceanRacing, #VeteranCharities, #SupportOurVeterans

Creating Community Impact, One Bowl at a Time 🏌️♂️ Yesterday, TurnBerry Acai had the privilege of being part of something bigger than ourselves. We joined forces with the Canada Shriners Hospital for their 13th Annual Invitational at Summerlea Golf & Country Club. The goal? To raise $1 million for life-changing medical imaging technology that keeps children safe. When we launched TurnBerry Acai 7 months ago, we didn’t just set out to make the best acai bowls in the city — we set out to make a difference. Our mission quickly evolved into "creating an everlasting community impact that transcends acai. One bowl at a time. One city at a time." 🌍 From university campuses to charity events like this one, being there for our community isn’t just a priority—it’s who we are. And no matter how fast we grow, this will never change. Should've prepped the 150 bowls in advance, but I've always been a crash course type of student haha! Could've been a disaster if dad was not here to carry the boat (insert David Goggins)! PS: I was a bit starstruck when I got to meet Montreal Canadiens' legend Chris Nilan haha! Can't forget my Junior A teammate and Hockey Saint-Laurent legend Jaden Lang 🏒 #CommunityImpact #TurnBerryAcai #CanadaShriners #AcaiForACause #GrowthMindset

Absolutely thrilled to see Blandy excel on the course! Well done, Blandy, I’ve heard so much good stuff about you and your game! However, I must express my disappointment with the current state of the PGA and PGA Tour. Their approach no longer resonates with me. It seems less about the scores and more about representing values that I find troubling. At times, it feels reminiscent of a disgruntled trade union—let’s move past that. Golf should be a meritocracy. If players can’t earn their way into the tour through their performance, should they receive world ranking points? As a charitable organisation, the PGA’s behaviour raises questions about the values they are promoting. Shouldn’t we be growing the game and increasing participation to foster excellence in society? Instead, it seems like playing a match or two outside their approval leads to exclusion. It’s time to refocus on what truly matters in golf. #Golf #Meritocracy #GrowTheGame #GolfValues #Blandy #PGA
