The goal is to transform the DoDIN to a full zero trust architecture. Made an excellent point that with zero trust, we want the Red Teams to fail for the first time, which has not happened in the past 30 years. By Red Teams failing, this means zero trust is working! One of the key zero trust challenges is a need to "validate these solutions.". Some of the major next steps include focusing on zero trust training, expanding outreach, conducting pilot assessments, focusing on hard problems in the DoD such as data tagging and labeling, and defining zero trust metrics.
