Today, we celebrate #WorldHealthDay, and the efforts of the CLINSPECT-M consortium to integrate mass spectrometry-based #proteomics into systems medicine by developing of standardized start-to-finish, fit-for-purpose workflows for clinical specimens. Testing different #samplepreparation and MS protocols on two clinically relevant sample matrices (plasma and cerebrospinal fluid), the six study partners conducted two studies, implementing the most promising protocols from the first round into the second. It was a great example of how the expert-driven exchange of knowledge and best practices can result in direct practical improvements that benefit the scientific community and, ultimately, patients. And it was especially gratifying to see our iST-BCT and SP3-iST kits do so well! Read more about the study and its results: https://ow.ly/wfVw50R3o5k

I'm really excited about this webinar. Not only is it on an important topic scientifically and ethically, but there's a lot of hype and bombastic claims about brain-machine interfaces that need to be tempered. Sign up below! #neurology #bioengineering
The global landscape for clinical trials on implanted brain-computer interfaces is dynamic, changing, and the focus of intense interest. However, information on clinical trial progress of implanted brain-computer interfaces remains scarce. Join our webinar with field leaders Jose L Contreras-Vidal, Ph.D. and Mariska van Steensel to talk about the state of clinical trials of implantable brain-computer interfaces. We invite you to hear their insights, ask questions, and contribute to this timely discussion. Register here: https://lnkd.in/eRQSR_uk

Dr. Odayme Quesada, Medical Director of the Women's Heart Center at The Christ Hospital, discusses how the CorMicA trial "has changed the way we look at diagnosis for ANOCA and INOCA patients". In the CorMicA trial, researchers demonstrated that "angina improved in patients who had interventions based on their diagnosis", suggesting the need for more stratified, personalized care in patients experiencing angina but without obstructed coronary arteries, many of whom have coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD). Kicking off from an excellent collaboration with Prof. David Hunter and Xiaoqian Liu, we're excited to share our latest publication comparing #placebo responses in internet-based versus onsite randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for hand osteoarthritis. 🔬 The study revealed no significant differences in placebo responses between the two study settings. Additionally, with the support of Placebell's digital solution, we found no differences in placebo response predictors, underscoring the reliability and efficacy of internet-based RCTs. This breakthrough paves the way for remote trials as a viable alternative and has the potential to enhance patient diversity and inclusion in clinical research.
