🚨 Breaking News: U.S. Executive Order Prohibits CBDC Development 🚨 Monetary sovereignty is a driving force behind about 95% of the world’s central banks currently exploring CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies). As other nations actively pilot CBDCs, the U.S. is choosing a different path—focusing on regulation and the strategic use of cryptocurrencies. Today, President Trump issued an Executive Order on digital financial technology, prohibiting any federal agency from developing or promoting a CBDC. The core purpose of the order is to "promote and protect the sovereignty of the United States dollar", ensuring its dominance in the global financial system. Key Highlights from the Executive Order: Sec. 5: Prohibition of CBDCs 1. Agencies are prohibited from creating, issuing, or promoting CBDCs domestically or abroad. 2. Existing plans or initiatives related to CBDCs must be immediately terminated. The order also established "Working Group on Digital Asset Markets" tasked with a) Propose a Federal regulatory framework governing the issuance and operation of digital assets, including stablecoins, in the United States, The Working Group’s report shall consider provisions for market structure, oversight, consumer protection, and risk management. b) Evaluate the creation of a national digital asset stockpile, potentially utilizing cryptocurrencies lawfully seized by the government. 💬 What do you think of this move?
