🌺08/23 live well🌺 Hearing or reading God's Word every day is an integral part of life because when you meditate on God's Word, it fills you with hope. When your words are opened, they give forth light, and make fools understand (Psalm 119:130). 08/23 Golden Sentences in English A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. (Proverbs 22: 3) A shrewd man flees from misfortune at the sight of it; a foolish man steps up to the victim and then repents (Proverbs 22:3). 08/23 Good Words 1. Learn to cherish and cherish the family and friendship on the road of life, because once you pass by, you may never get back. 2. Both demeanor and upbringing cannot be cultivated overnight. It takes a long time to temper, accumulate and precipitate. Poetry: Words of Life https://lnkd.in/gVe72DWi

OUR SIMPLE DREAMS: A REMINDER Our simple dreams ought to give us some type of freedom. They ought to speak when we cannot utter a word, Or silence the crowd when we feel sovereignly attacked. Our wisest tomorrows must never appear beyond this hour. Their reaching hands should be stopped with leaves and trees, Standing taller than before when time urges nothing in return. Ours should be the endlessness of today without any reward. This age ought to present itself in the form it deserves, An empty house, or perhaps a room without windows, Because the whispers of yesterday try their best to harm us, Whilst sinking doubts of forever lose the wars we wage, Only against ourselves, of course, in the moments we forget The most important thing in this simple, but never easy, life: Which is that we are alive, and can walk the paths given to us, With those whom we love, because despair and anguish are only a second In the craftiness of this formidable stage full of random players: A single sanctuary wherein our hearts can surely bloom and grow Into the flowers that we solely admire in awe, when stars no longer remain Our only source of witnessing the purpose we humbly carry towards every loss. Think of 0thers As you prepare your breakfast, think of others (do not forget the pigeon’s food). As you conduct your wars, think of others (do not forget those who seek peace). As you pay your water bill, think of others (those who are nursed by clouds). As you return home, to your home, think of others (do not forget the people of the camps). As you sleep and count the stars, think of others (those who have nowhere to sleep). As you liberate yourself in metaphor, think of others (those who have lost the right to speak). As you think of others far away, think of yourself (say: “If only I were a candle in the dark”). - Mahmoud Darwish (1941-2008) Mahmoud was an award-winning Palestinian author and poet. His literature, particularly his poetry, created a sense of Palestinian identity and was used to resist the occupation of his homeland. In ‘Think of Others,’ the poet’s message is self-evident. Darwish repeats the same phrases, and urging us to not only be grateful for what we have, but also to help those who are less fortunate. The poems acts as a powerful plea from Darwish to ‘be the candle in the dark’ and to help those are who in need; both near and far. - Analysis by Lydia Marouf

I help Christian CEOs/Business Owners achieve excellence and a greater purpose in their businesses, lives and communities.
Here is another book I recently started to read. It is excellent! It has inspired and challenged my thinking. This is worth the read! In his book, The Sacredness of Secular Work, Jordan Raynor explores how our secular work is aligned with God's First Commission to mankind in Genesis 1 & 2 and how it is still part of God's plan, not only for the here and now, but in eternity.
