Women in business talk a lot about lifting each other up, but.... With Women's History Month starting tomorrow, I feel compelled to elaborate on how I feel you really and truly and genuinely and impactfully support women in business (and life). This is what it sounds like: - Who specifically can I introduce you to? What is their name (specific person) or title? - Let me know if you can join me at this networking event or on this sales call. - Why don't you sit in with me on this meeting? - Why don't you come with me to this event? So and so will be there, and I know you have been wanting to meet them. - I gave this person your contact info and they are expecting your call, I really talked you up and they are excited to meet you. - When can you meet for coffee so we can get to know each other and our business needs better and strategize together? I am so lucky that not only have I said/ done all of those things, but they have all been offered to me. And, this is what it LOOKS like. When you are successful and confident, you grab the person coming up behind you and let them sit next to you and take the spotlight. Pls note: *I am not interested in your opinion of Taylor Swift*

Entrepreneur & Corporate Director/Corporate governance champion/Catalyst for change/Community builder/2x WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women/The SustainabilityX® Magazine’s inaugural Global 50 Women In Sustainability Awards
It’s that time of year again—time for #My3words. It’s my pleasure to announce that #My3words for 2024 are advocate, listen and lift. Why do I select #My3words each year? In 2015, I read about Chris Brogan’s idea to choose three words in the new year to guide your choices and actions. Ever since, I’ve been picking my own three words to serve as guideposts for my path, helping me keep my goals and values at the forefront of everything I do. They remind me to focus on what matters and let go of what does not. This year, #My3words were inspired by Gavriella Schuster, Board Executive and DEI Advocate. She joined us as a guest speaker at our Women Get On Board Inc. virtual session that tackled a timely topic: allyship. To break down the core behaviours of an ally, Gavriella introduced the acronym ALLIES. Her powerful discussion on the role of allies in enabling diversity galvanized me, igniting my desire to do even more this year to support the next generation of women in business. Guided by her framework, I have chosen the first three letters of the acronym and their meanings: Advocate, Listen and Lift as #My3words this year. Read the post on my blog for more on what #My3words for 2024 mean to me: https://lnkd.in/guYrEgfp #CorporateGovernance #ESG #BoardDiversity #WomenInLeadership #WomenOnBoards

We’re on a mission to help more women CEOs crash the million and billion-dollar boys club. That’s why we’re so loud about helping women business owners take charge of their marketing and show up as themselves in it. We want you to step into the forefront, own your point of view, and make your values known. This is particularly true if you work in a field that’s traditionally dominated by men. It’s not because women should put themselves out there more than men. But we believe women should own just as much spotlight as their male counterparts. While things are changing, the world’s not quite there yet. If you’re feeling hesitant, we get it. It’s hard to put yourself out there, especially if you’re one of few women in your industry. It can also be tricky figuring out how to actually go about it. This blog post gives you some pointers for rocking your marketing as a woman-owned business: https://lnkd.in/e_SMXFv7

Women's History Month Day 5 of 31: Wise Words from Wise Women A 30 second Q&A with Allison Herrick, Educational Consultant with Read Write Think with Renee, and a treasured toth shop client and friend. toth shop: In less than 10 words, what’s ONE piece of advice would you give to young women today? Allison Herrick: “No decision is permanent. Take the risk, make the move.” ts: How can we better support women in business? AH: “Learning to trust and use your voice is big. I think helping women to understand that their ideas, questions, and concerns are worthy to be heard would be a great way to support women in business.” ts: What’s your proudest moment or accomplishment? AH: “So far, I am most proud of saying ‘yes.’ I have had two big ‘yeses’ that changed the trajectory of my life. First, packing up and moving to Atlanta right out of college to work at a school I had never visited and to live in a place where I knew no one. Second, choosing to bet on myself and say yes to the career change that landed me here.” Read more from Allison on the Read Write Think with Renee website - link below in comments.
