📢 Welcome to the European City2 Project Linkedin profile❗ 🚀 Last week in Barcelona, the European City² project officially began with a successful kick-off meeting. This initiative brings together #scientists, city governments, #universities, #entrepreneurs, and civil society to tackle the urgent challenges of modern #democracies. 💡 The project leverages real and synthetic data, computational social science, and social choice theory to develop an agent-based simulation environment. Central to the project is the exploration of #QuadraticVoting, a method aimed at improving public good allocation and fostering trust and altruism in governance. Collaborating with #Aarhus, Denmark, as a government partner, the project will integrate mathematical models and adhere to rigorous #GDPR standards to ensure ethical research. 👉 During the meeting, the consortium presented work packages on topics such as #electoralsystem advances, quantum voting models, data synthesis, simulation development, and real-world pilot testing, culminating in actionable policy recommendations. This project seeks to offer transformative tools and insights for strengthening democratic processes in Europe.
