Revolutionizing healthcare starts with innovation! Meet Tibalink, Qhala's groundbreaking solution designed to transform healthcare across Africa. Led by Dr. David Nolen, MD, a visionary in Otolaryngology and CEO of TibaLink, this platform aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery by enhancing communication and knowledge exchange among medical professionals. Africa faces formidable healthcare challenges: a heavy disease burden, a critical shortage of healthcare professionals (just 0.21 doctors per 1,000 people), and ongoing battles against endemic and emerging diseases. The fragmented medical communication exacerbates these issues, leading to delays in patient care and inadequate responses to health crises. With many patients residing hours away from essential healthcare facilities, accessibility and treatment outcomes are profoundly affected continent-wide. TibaLink stands as a beacon of hope, poised to bridge these gaps and uplift healthcare delivery and resilience across Africa. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare! The #AsiaPacificHeartSummit kicks off today and I am honoured to be representing FH Europe - The European FH Patient Network as an affiliate of Global Heart Hub and the voice of patients living with familial hyperlipidaemias #HeFH, #HoFH, Elevated Lp(a) #Lpa, and #FCS. Our new member of the network from #Singapore will be represented by Subramaniam Tavintharan. At the summit, the critical need for a cohesive national #CVD strategy that can transform cardiovascular care across the Asia-Pacific will be discussed. We will specifically make the case for #Cardiovascular #Health national plans, bringing our specific experience from patient and citizen advocacy in familial CVD risk factors. 1️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Health ministries must lead, working with other government sectors to coordinate efforts from national to local levels. 2️⃣ 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: From primary care to emergency services and rehabilitation, we need health systems that function as a unified whole—especially in low- and middle-income countries. Strengthening emergency care can save countless lives by reducing treatment delays. 3️⃣ 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀: Building robust networks with specialized training for emergency medical teams and improving diagnostics for faster, more accurate care. 4️⃣ 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 & 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲: CVD prevention and control strategies must be gender-focused and equitable, ensuring everyone has access to lifesaving care. 5️⃣ 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴: Health systems need funding that covers every stage—prevention, early detection, treatment, and rehabilitation. We must step up to meet the critical needs of our health systems and achieve key outcomes: Reduce premature deaths Decrease hospitalizations and re-hospitalizations Curb the rise of new #CVD cases Promote #Health as the ultimate goal! As a proud member of the Global Heart Hub, we are grateful for the invitation and the opportunity to advocate for #Screening and #Detection for effective #Prevention! Don't miss our first Seminar of 2024: Dr Claire Hutchinson and A/Prof Nikki McCaffrey join RePaDD to share what aspects of #QualityofLife are most important for people receiving #PalliativeCare services and a framework analysis of qualitative interviews with service users. Wednesday 27 March - 11:30am-12:30pm ACDT Access livestream: https://lnkd.in/gp7TqGNZ - About the presentation - Preference-based outcome measures are commonly applied in economic analyses to inform healthcare resource allocation decisions. Yet few preference-based outcome measures have been specifically developed for palliative and end-of-life settings. The presentation reports on a study that aimed to identify which quality-of-life domains are most important to Australians receiving specialised palliative care services to help determine if the development of a new condition-specific preference-based outcome measure is warranted.

Today is #WorldPatientSafetyDay 2024. On this World Patient Safety Day, we at eHealth Africa join the global community in highlighting the critical importance of accurate and timely diagnoses to ensure patient safety and improve health outcomes. This year’s theme, “Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety,” with the slogan “Get it right, make it safe!”, aligns perfectly with our commitment to using innovative digital tools to enhance healthcare delivery and patient safety, especially in challenging environments. One of our groundbreaking initiatives is the BISKIT App (Blood Information System for Crisis Intervention and Management). BISKIT plays a pivotal role in improving patient safety by ensuring the safe and efficient management of blood supply chains during crises—whether in times of natural disaster, conflict, or public health emergencies. Over one year of working with the #HospitalPartnerships program! (Pt. 1) Time flies, especially when your work is full of diverse experiences. As I celebrate my belated one-year anniversary in the Förderprogramm Klinikpartnerschaften, I want to reflect on some achievements, highlights, and challenges: 1️⃣ True Partnership When someone asks me what the best part of my job is, I can easily say: Meeting the Hospital Partners. It is truly inspiring to meet health professionals who have been working together for years or even decades, transforming not only hospitals but entire health systems. You can see it in their track record or in the way they treat each other. There is a 100% correlation between real partnership at eye level, where everyone respects each other’s culture and expertise, and the success of the Hospital Partnership. I witnessed this firsthand when I, next to Dr. Karamba Diaby, who enthusiastically supports this collaboration, welcomed Prof. Eva Johanna Kantelhardt Ethiopian partners on behalf of the program. The partnership, between Halle and Ethiopia, is a prime example of what makes our work impactful. Here are some highlights from their work and how the “true partnership” aspect reflects in their success: 👉 Longevity: These partnerships have been growing for many years, providing a stable and sustainable platform for cooperation to fight gynecological cancers together. 👉 Up-Scaling: The initial funding i.e. by our predecessor program, led to the mobilization of significantly larger resources from organizations such as the Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung and other ministries. 👉 Impact: The longevity and advanced funding have resulted in significant improvements in health services in Ethiopia. The partnership has expanded its activities to cover more areas and themes, evolving from smaller projects into a comprehensive program. Reflecting on these experiences reaffirms my belief in the power of true partnerships and international cooperation despite of all bureaucratic hassles. This collaboration not only improves health outcomes but also fosters global understanding and solidarity. I am proud to work with them.
