Australia’s AgTech and farming industries have received a welcome pre-election boost. The Federal Government has pledged to top up its flagship AgTech On Farm Connectivity Program (OFCP) with a third round of grants, totalling $20 million, that will run until 2026. OFCP co-funds farmers’ purchases of hi-tech equipment and helps embed AgTech into the Australian agricultural sector. 👉 Read the full story from InnovationAus.com here: https://lnkd.in/gdFDhXZ7

welcoming our newest member of uk FPN FENTECH AGRI Fentech’s roots trace back to 2014, when a mechanically minded farmer / engineer, Toby Kilham, launched the company with a focus on bespoke engineering design and manufacturing. Leveraging his agricultural expertise, Toby soon shifted his focus to creating innovative solutions specifically for farm machinery. His interest in sustainable farming methods grew as he witnessed firsthand the environmental challenges facing modern agriculture. Soil degradation, erosion, and declining yields inspired him to seek solutions that would not only improve productivity but also protect the land for future generations. Direct drilling caught his attention as a method that minimises soil disturbance, promotes biodiversity, and reduces the carbon footprint of farming. In 2018 Fentech started building Simtech seed drills, based on a simple but effective inverted T-slot principle giving unmatched results in all situations – any surface, every soil type and all climatic conditions. In 2022 Fentech acquired Simtech and now combined, they started to refine the range of direct seed drills utilising the T-slot coulter, expanding their model range across mechanical, pneumatic, and grass seed drills. The headquarters relocated from Suffolk to Spalding, Lincolnshire. That same year Toby joined forces with Paul Chapman, a finance expert with vast agricultural knowledge, to form Fentech Agri. Paul’s expertise in domestic and foreign machinery sales, coupled with his understanding of farm finances, allows him to advise farmers on capital investments, maximising profit and utilising grants effectively. Drawing from the extensive experience of its team, Fentech Agri possesses a deep understanding of various agricultural applications, enabling them to create cutting-edge solutions. Fentech Agri has also expanded on its experience with subsoilers and tillage tools. Fentech Agri believes in a three machine approach to cultural weed control, soil restructuring and effective tine seeding. Offering low disturbance subsoiler options utilising the Metcalfe NG system and weed control in the form of straw rakes and shallow tilth creators to compliment the drill range.
