We have come across hiring managers that insist the candidate must be from exactly the same industry, same scope and similar level of exposure. Sure, if you are hiring a heart surgeon, go for that. But for most roles, that is a limiting belief. Talent is everywhere! #leadership #mindset
I wholeheartedly concur with you, Radu Palamariu. From my experience in people hiring and supporting, I have seen the valuable contributions that individuals from different industries and backgrounds can bring. Beyond specific skills, what truly matters are positive attitudes, genuine purpose, and authenticity. The hiring manager plays a crucial role in driving and sustaining development.
Yes Yes Yes Radu Palamariu !! Now to work on the ROI to ensure organizations walk the talk and really see the value to implement this type of “sourcing” people strategy! ✨
I will choose to work with the leaders who sees me as a human with a soul/ mind , then check box my job experience. I cannot complain hiring mgr only, my own self awakening journey starts 7 years ago, since then, I am able to take the conversation about ‘ who I am and what I do “.
People with the right attitude can learn new skills . People with the wrong attitude are not worth the risk no matter how good their skills are.
I agree with everything that you say “should happen”. To change this, we need to know “why” that happens atleast when looking for talent externally and not internally. In my view the hiring managers have a very low self belief that they can evaluate someone’s mindset and attitude in a matter of one or two interactions. So they go for the easy path.
Agreed- hiring in your own image or trying to replicate exactly what you have had in the team before often means missing out on much more diverse talent.
Very well mentioned Radu Palamariu , these are the consistent infectious attributes which help a team , a program , a vertical and an organization at an exponential grow path.
200% Agree however Easy said than done... Hail stereotype bias
Yes, but experience matters too.

3moRadu Palamariu Couldn't agree more. The notion that by doing so, hiring managers will be able to bring 'best practices' is a myth. Best is best until better is produced and that is done by a creative & adaptive mind not by 'copy - paste' from one company to another within same industry
