Great Chat this morning at the #rmcs24 "Cross domain interaction between allies and partners in a complex environment" BLUF: Secure, agile, robust communications are a concern -and addressing these challenges will allow is to deter conflict in the Pacific and if there IS a conflict, we must be prepared to fight and win. The conversation and frank views are shared by BGl Mark D. Miles, U.S. #INDOPACOM Director J6, BG Kyle C. Paul, Deputy Commanding General, Transformation, Headquarters Space Operations Command, U.S. #SpaceForce, Peterson Space Force Base, and COL James Austin, Deputy Director #EUCOM J-6, Cyber/C4. Of note, the maturity Level of Allied and Partner networks has common characteristics - one of them is the fact that there are over 40 networks... Thus, reducing agility and ofttimes relying on hastily built new networks. The big centric networks become episodic, and cross-domain solutions also create latency. Notable quote: "We used to strive to be combat effective - now we strive to be cost efficient..." - COL James Austin, Deputy Director EUCOM J-6, Cyber/C4.

Too often our military tech is branch and nation specific, creating unnecessary challenges for joint and multinational operations. With the understanding that future military operations will likely be joint and multinational, this deliberate approach to ensuring interoperability for exciting new tech capabilities is crucial.
“It was great to see the similarities and differences in how space, signal, cyber, as well as U.S., U.K., and Australian SOF partners operate. We enjoyed working with these forces and exploring where and how we can fit in.” ~SGT Jon Rizzo, 18th Space Company https://lnkd.in/eNBPVbUK

The changing nature of warfare, driven by rapid technological developments, requires military forces to be more adaptive, integrated, and capable of both conventional and unconventional operations. A 21st-century military force must be technologically advanced, highly adaptable, and capable of operating across multiple domains—land, sea, air, cyber, and space. Integrating AI, autonomous systems, and advanced cyber capabilities while maintaining a flexible and agile force structure will be key to facing the diverse and rapidly evolving threats of the future. Ultimately, achieving this transformation will require sustained political will, strategic focus, and a commitment to aligning the capabilities with the evolving security environment
