OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has reportedly set his sights on the semiconductor industry, eyeing a nearly $7 trillion funding boost to ramp up AI chip production. According to a recent Wall Street Journal report, Altman is in talks with investors, including those from UAE, to secure funding aimed at bolstering global production of chips specifically designed for AI technology. This plan could require raising as much as $5 trillion.
