Word of the day Lot Size In an IPO, a company divides its total shares on offer into lots. Say, ABC Ltd plans to sell 1 lakh shares, with 10 shares per lot (lot size). Which means there will be 10,000 lots that investors can apply for. Retail investors can apply in lots (example: 1 or 2 lots), not in terms of number of shares.
